The personal computer from Compaq Presario

As most people are going for notebooks and netbooks, personal computers like the desktop is not a popular gadget for a lot of people. Even recently or I would say last month, when the PC Fair was on, as I was walking on all the floors and look around at the PC Fair in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, most of the computer booths were full of notebooks and only a handful of desktops.

Most people want to have the notebooks as they are either always mobile or they want to bring their personal computers along wherever they go. Me...as much as I use a notebook most of the time in my work, and been using notebooks for many years and using 2 notebooks at the same time for about 2 years, it still didn't cross my mind about getting a desktop computer.

One day when one of my notebooks going into its old age and started dying and repairs that it had gone through a couple of times before, that I was thinking it was time for the notebook to "retire". With another notebook to rely on, I had this thinking of going back to having a desktop instead of getting another notebook. So, after some months....there it goes...my mind kept thinking about getting a desktop for use in the house and not my notebook.

Looking and searching and comparing around from Acer to Dell to HP and all the features that they offer...it still took me months to think it over. I felt that desktop is a little more "stable" for many years as compared to notebooks that I have used. Not to mention that I can see larger screens with now all are using LCD monitors, and CPUs that are getting more compact and lighter too!

Considering hard for Dell and all its combination that we can think of wanting, looking at the Acer attraction of their new ranges, it didn't occur to me that I actually ended up getting a HP Compaq Presario.

It started on with the offer came from my PlusOne member card of SenQ. telling about their promotions on HP computers and notebooks. Hmm...and that made me went to SenQ few times to take a look at the HP products and considering their offers. With RM1500 you can get a really good package of personal desktop. Hmm..that is really really really a good price to grab! Then come another thing after price... What are the features and items given with that range of price?Surprisingly enough that with just about Rm1500, you actually can get a monitor, keyboard and mouse along with the CPU. At SenQ, you can't buy the desktop PCs just the CPUs...you must buy the whole "combo pack"!

In spite of that, great features were offered... I was looking at one model..very basic one. Vista Home Basic was included, the Compaq Presario Desktop PC has Intel Pentioum Dual Core Processor E5400, with 1024MB DDR2, 250GB 3G Hard Drive, Intel GMA 3100 Graphics and super multidrive that comes with it. Now seems that a lot of CPUs have multicard reader already and that is also the same for the Compaq Presario that I was looking at.

Like the Compaq Presario CQ3030D...it has also the High Definition Audio with 5.1 surround sound ready..which is cool too.. though they put in the Vista Home Basic..of course you can do many things later on especially for gamers who play games on PC since the PC at that offer is rather basic for heavy gamers. For others, it is already very good, enough to do just about everything with it. Not to mention when it includes the monitor, it is the HP w185 model. Mmm....cool. Don't expect a CPU that is so compact like those Acer range and Dell's. As you know HP product range always look so conservative...but wat is more important??... performance and what you can do with your computer.

Well.. there are few models that you can browse through at SenQ but I was so tempted with the Compaq Presario CQ3030D Desktop PC because of what it has to offer with such a very reasonable price! Really cool.... and I know my computer desk will no longer be empty for years to come :)

Hitachi Ultra Thin LCD TV

The many months this year I was always talking about the LCD tv with my big baby. The one that he bought for playing his playstation 3 and the Wii, the lcd tv that we think would be good to buy but I suppose as he may not be interested with Hitachi, I didn't realise that I overlook the Ultra Thin LCD TV to consider checking on.

With a thought of the Apple iMac at the back of my head, caught my attention to the Ultra Thin LCD tv. I suppose it is already in the market for so long now, but seems that it wasn't really being talked about as everybody has been saying about Sony Bravia. After the S series, then the V series, W series until comes to the X series.

What made me look at the Hitachi was when I passed by the TV shop in town, when the price of it suddenly caught my eye. I went to look and hey, this is cool. It's the Ultra Thin LCD tv.

It is about 39mm and 35mm being the thinness portion. So my buddies, if you are talking about the LCD TV, then you should be thinking about this Ultra Thin LCD tv as well especially if you are not thinking about the PS3 and Wii like my big baby does. hahaha

Being claimed as having environment friendly feature like minimizing the impact by having the energy saving and CO2 reduction, maybe you should consider checking it out. Resolution of the tv to me appear to be good. Check it out if you haven't however, I heard that price of LCD TV will further reduce next year so if you have no urgency of getting a tv, you can still have to time to survey around and consider looking at this tv as well.

Hmm...I'm going to go around again to see what else is new and interesting before getting one to replace my old faithful in my tv room :)

Experia X1 and the coming X1a

Interesting to know that it is only 2 days of the launch of Experia X1 and now..I'm getting to know that the X1a will come out after this!!

It is really similar to the existing X1 with only minor differences and that will be the additional of the radio RDS in the X1a while the X1 doesn't have a radio. I wonder if the vibrating alert in both phones are slightly different with each other? I have not tested that yet and curious to know though.

Anyway, the second difference is that the X1a is having two colours while X1 only comes in one colour. So that is to say the later generation of the X1 model is what we call as X1a! Not to say completely right but I just believe that it is because basically everything else feature wise...they are both the same except for the radio and also the colour of the phones themselves.

Hmm...well, just wait for the X1a to be tried out! :) Let me know what you think as well??

Ok, so one more day for the launching of Sony Ericsson Experia X1 and I am so excited about it. However, the launching is at 1Utama tomorrow and it is at a time that I dreaded to get out of the house. Traffic jam!!!!

Well, all I can say is that I will just patiently wait for a time that I can feel it and try it out. Wondering if it will be something I might put in my wish list.

Experia X1 is claimed to be having fast access for internet, fast 3G web, fast gaming ( you want to play games in the phone like you play a PSP?? why??), fast camera, fast calling and everything seems to be fast. Well, after trying then I will know if it is really fast or not? :) Interestingly for messaging, that this Experia X1 actually doesn't have text input and also you can't do MMS as in Multimedia messaging if you are a person who likes it, you can do the MMS as in picture messaging only. I suppose this is not a bother ya?? :) however, it has different features like Exchange Active Sync and if you like radio in your phone (is there really people who listens to the radio on the phone?) Experia doesn't have the radio. teehee......... and no track ID in the music section. Whatever it is, those things are not a a bother. This mobile is really cool for doing work. A nice phone to own actually. Mmm.... will check it out

I suppose it might also be useful where my work is concern since it has the Windows Mobile inside it. Still....I will have to take a closer look at it, and try it out more to say if it is really an ultimate mobile of my mobile phone listing! :)

So the long awaited model is now in the market.... well, you can go check it out yourself, and see what you think of it?? ;)

Sony Year End Sale

As I was walking through to the Sony Center and went in to Harvey Norman, was just looking around at those LCD TVs, PS3, Blu Ray players and all that, I saw something that was pasted on the wall.

It was about the Full HD TV and something that I am really curious about which I didn't get to ask further or find out further yet. There was this notice on the wall saying that there will be the Full HD channel that will be first in South East Asia that will be launch here in Malaysia. Now what could that possibly be??

Anyway, there is also this thing some birdy news came on, and that is the Sony Year End Festive Promotion. Apparently it suppose to be started around 15th November 2008 and will be right through to the new year till 31st January 2009.

How interesting can that be? I am curious to know and wonder if I can find out more about this. I am looking around for the LCD TV that I am considering for my bedroom, although a TV in my bedroom is not something I like to have, especially not the one that directly facing my bed. Call it feng shui but I just don't like the idea. hahaha... but I do think about getting the new tv. mmm.......

Well....I suppose I will just wait and see if that Year End sale will be happening soon?

Remote security monitoring system

This has been going on for quite awhile...and a friend of mine brought this topic up again recently. So I decided to blabber away here about it :)

Interesting there is this one website of a company, promoting their product and that is for the remote security monitoring system.

You just need these to get it running! :)
1) A computer to run a webcam or a camera
2) A webcam or a CCD camera or a dome camera
3) Broadband internet connection
4) mobile phone that enables GPRS, EDGE/3G/HSPDA and so it works with all mobile service providers.

This monitoring system has features like motion detection, can record and playback, able to have multiple cameras, and also have time scheduler. Things can be expensive but this one apparently is relatively cheap. Some time ago, they actually doing the promotion and I think the price is fix at Rm10 per month only!

Ultra-Slim Metal Mouse and an emergency charger

I was browsing the inflight shopping catalogue last week, and I found this interesting gadgets from Switzerland. There are a number of things that are actually interesting but I will start with this little tiny thing that we always use everyday... the mouse.

This Ultra-slim metal mouse is really a 5mm edition that is meant for ease portability especially for people who travels a lot. It is really just a card size and foldable. The mouse panel can be adjusted according to the size of hands so that it won't be too small or too large for the varians of people's hands.

It has like the usual retractable cable for connection and it is an optical mouse. It is a plug and play mouse just like almost every mouse you get from anywhere except the live mouse! :)

There are two colours for this mouse which are silver and gold. Interesting to know that the gold version is because of the rat year!

Another thing that might be useful for travellers is the emergency charger. What got my attention was the LED indication. It reminds me of Alien Vs Predator!! :) The LED indicator is to show the power level of the charger.

This emergency charger actually is very compact and light. It should be since it is for travelling! It uses Samsung battery and this is the world's smallest charger with high-capacity portable power charger. More interesting is that it can be used to charge not just one item at one time. It can charge your laptop and your mobile phone both at the same time, so it does saves a lot of hassle in that sense. I think that was what I read before. Correct me if I'm wrong.

For an emergency charger, it does help a lot since it gives a Blackberry PDA enough time with being on stand-by for 16 days! iPhone can have the talk-time at 13 hours, and standby time of 400 hours and 40 hours for audio playback. So you know that other models will surely have longer duration in spite of being an emergency charge. Enough time for you to do what you need. The Nokia phone or Samsung like the F258 can get 16 hours talk time and 1000 hours od standby. What I can say is that Lifetrons (that's the brand by the way) does have interesting travelling gadgets to look at and have them. Very handy when travelling. New gadgets for the Q4 onwards

Well well well....again I was away for so long to tell anything here and now, got lots of things to tell but... I just settle with my blabbering about a few things only for now :)

Interestingly, I was going to say about Nikon new DSLR that comes out and when I was about to say that here, I get itchy fingers that want to type about new touchscreen phones that are coming out at the Q4 of 2008. Two interesting ones are LG Renoir and Samsung Pixon. Hmm... Suddenly I felt there are interesting names coming out than just the usual model number stuff.

Samsung Pixon is another touchscreen model with something more interesting. It is 8MP camera that comes with it!! So, obviously as what I mentioned earlier bout new models, the real competitor will be with the also new LG Renoir. Hmm.... when talking about touchscreen, the first thing that comes to mind to a lot of people is the iPhone. However, my friends and family who use the iPhone seem to generally change and/or switch back to Nokia models after awhile.

That gave me an impression that iPhone is not that great afterall. hahaha... no offence to iPhone fans :) just that my family and friends who use iPhone seem to feel that it is not a practical phone for heavy users like them. I assume it is more like one of the fashion phone and interesting features but rather troublesome for the heavy and busy users of mobile phones.

Anyway back to Samsung Pixon, being new and interesting...it doesn't have the also new things people look out for, which are the Wi-fi and the global 3G. Hmmm.....probably they think that it is not really a necessary feature? Maybe... However, for being rather a direct competitor to Renoir, then it is one feature down, because Renoir has Wi-fi and 3G. But... Pixon has larger screen at 3.2" as compared to Renoir which is only 3". Does that give you a lot of difference? Hmm... maybe to some, while others don't really bother. I know some friends out there are that kind of people. haha...

This Pixon seems to look thicker. I have yet to see it on MY shores so I can have a feel of it. Hmm... soon I will start go hunting again! :)

The layout looks similar to F480 but with "thicker" body, and it is about the same look like the LG Renoir. Hmm..... as I said earlier...real competitor :) Won't be so much as compared to Innov8 I suppose...because Innov8 looks much thicker than Pixon though by seeing the dimensions they are just almost the same. As I said, this Pixon looks like the F480 except that the camera seems to protrude a little bit more. Haaa.....I think it has got to do with the 8MP camera. teehee.... However, the Renoir is also having protruding camera..so they are same. hahahaha.

Well...whatever it is, when these two phones are really in the showcase at the phone shops, I will really get them both sit together and compare.

Anyway, I will continue about the camera later. Enough talk about the mobiles for tonight :)

Handsfree from Sony Ericsson the HBH-IS800

Hmm...after ages of vacuuming from this blog due to the full schedule of my work, mm...now I can't wait to say something!
Was talking to my big baby yesterday about the handsfree that he had lost and was talking about getting a new handsfree kit. So, that's when we came to talk about this handsfree which I find really interesting!!
HBH-IS800 is one handsfree that I am going to look out for since it is still not in the market yet as far as I know. So now this model is a wireless stereo headphone, so you can listen to music in your phone using this wireless headphone via the bluetooth. Hmm..... that is cool!

What makes it something I want to look out for is because of what my big baby was highlighting to me. The ear plugs.. Usually headsets tend to have the earplugs that we normally see and that kind of earplugs somehow someway, it just didn't stick to my ears really well. If I force it to stick on, after awhile I get headache and ear pain or tiring ears!! The cable that connects both the earplugs will be at the back of your neck when you wear this handsfree. Neat!

I was told that this new earplugs, is soft and can really placed nicely in the ear, that you don't need to put it on a high volume also, as the sound system is such that it blocks out the outside sound and you just need to turn to a favourable volume, so you can hear crisp and clear sound from the music in your mobile phone.

Hmm....now that is really really something I want to try out and if it is so, I will consider getting one for myself. However, I will test with receiving and making a call as well. Then I will say more. For now, I will wait till I get the opportunity to get my hands on it!! :)

The Omnia when it comes

Hmm...so the time for me to wait for Samsung F480 to come to MY market has arrived, and so does the Omnia. Sigh..... I am still thinking of the things that I like and don't like and though I have been waiting for these models to come, now that they have arrived, and I have really tested everything fully....mmm... I still have my doubts of getting one.

Omnia price at 8GB RM2799 and 16GB RM2999. Hmm... do you actually think it is worth to buy at such price?? No doubt, the phone is really nice to hold like an iPhone if you think you like that in-trend iPhone thingy.

Well...yet, I am now waiting for Sony Ericsson Experia X1 to come out and compare again with F480, Omnia, HTC Diamond and the Experia X1 before I really get myself a new mobile, be it a smartphone or not I am actually not bothered. Err....probably I do. I don't want a smartphone. hahaha... Anyhow, with not really a specific preference in that sense, I just want to try out again on the new mobiles out in the MY market and then I will decide again which one I am going to get for myself. My big baby has been saying to me that if I like the F480, I might as well just get it since the Omnia is way too expensive. He said that because my opinion of price is that, if it is more than 2k for a mobile phone, that is already too much. Afterall, phones these days don't really last longer than 2-3 years. Even shorter if you lose the phone!! hehehehe.... so I don't think that it is worth to get a mobile phone at a price of more than 2k.

Still, I am sure there are a lot of people out there don't agree with me on that but for someone of the middle class might probably think I am sensible in this. kekekekekeke....

Ok, I am still looking around and testing phones....thinking and thinking which one I am going to get soon... (yeah, still not getting one yet for many months I have been talking about it!) Well, my phone is not dead yet, so it is a good thing. Just hope it won't get crazier than it is or worse to die sooner than I thought! This will give me more time to look around before my phone really go out of order... mmm.... :)

Canon camera

Hmm....as usual, busy schedule unable to write so often.... however, I was at Sunway Pyramid recently and saw those Canon cameras on display and on promotion. There was this shop having some new things to offer!!

So for those of you who want to get a new camera, there are some that you can consider taking a look at. Also if you are thinking of getting Canon ones. There is this one that I kinda like...and that is the Powershot G9! 12.1 megapixels, 6x optical zoom, optical image stabilizer, multiple face detection and 3" PureColor II LCD as some of its selling points. Interesting enough to see for a Powershot range.

I like this model than another 3 new models they were promoting which were Powershot A650 IS, Powershot SX100 IS, and Powershot A720 IS. Hmm..... just like the Powershot As series thingy that are around so long already, these new ones have not much difference in terms of the outlook, except for Powershot A650 IS it is sort of not all silver and not all black. It has both. Features are just like the G9 but with vari-angle LCD. It's cool.

As for the Powershot SX100 IS, the differentiator will be it is only 8 megapixels as compared to G9 and A650 IS that have 12.1 megapixels. Another different thing from these two is it has 10x optical zoom and the LCD is only 2.5". Have two colours to choose from, either black or silver.

Powershot A720 IS also with 8 megapixels, with lesser feature like only 6x optical zoom but it does have Optical Image Stabilizer and Multi Face Detection.

Whatever it is, it may be a tough time for some, while others just felt tempting to get such stuff. Well... this is what I can gather for now and hopefully it helps some first timers in the field!!! :)

iPhone 3G and Wii Fit

Ok, now that I just received the news from Apple that the iPhone 3G will be out this Friday. Hmm.... are you really looking forward to it? Thinking about the craze over mobiles prices like watching share markets!!

What is the reason for iPhone not being marketed officially in Malaysia as well?? I wonder why..... Anyway, there is nothing much I can tell about this iPhone since we are not going to get it flooded in our mobile shops, so see whoever gets it somewhere and use it here, you go try the stuff and let me know what you think k?? As far as I can see that in Malaysia market, Samsung seems to be moer aggressive these days with their new range of mobile phones and not to forget the promotions that comes with it. Interesting to see, and I have yet to really have my hands on the ones here in Malaysia like the Samsung F480 I was waiting to see locally, which is already out recently, and another one that seems to be interesting to test on is the Samsung Omnia. Hmm... and LG is also showing off their newer models like LG Secret which looks kinda cool!

Since iPhone came out, a lot of mobile phones these days are promoting a lot on the touchscreen feature, which is actually not a new thing but iPhone made it more popular than it was.. :)

Ok, as I said that iPhone is something like nothing can be talked about, it is like a trend phone, a much talked about phone but you don't see it flooding in Malaysia so I am going to say something else... and that is.... no iPhone here, and also...no PS3!!! Ok, there are PS3 consoles around but...they are not "officially" launch here right? Hmm...so that comes to what I am thinking since the time I was looking for the PS3. I landed with seeing Wii.

Now that the Wii Fit seems scarce!! Anybody know where I can find Wii Fit US version here in Malaysia??? Seems like going everywhere and I can't find any. It was at about RM480 and I heard that it will go up when the next stock comes in. Hmm..why is that?? Due to petrol too?? haha.. My big baby is wanting the Wii Fit which I feel that it is also good to have since I like to know that he will play with it and a reason for him to do some sort of exercise with it!! At least something than nothing right? hehehehe...

Anyway, I am having a look out on that iPhone 3G model. It is coming out this Friday!!! Check it out! :)

Philips Home Theater

It has been a month since the last entry...yeah yeah, the usual reason...busy. Yes, I have been busy out of town, and no time to actually come in here, and the times when I get to go online mainly just reply all the emails that came in.

Anyway, today I went out for a movie and filling up the outing with surveying the mobile phones (again??? yeah....again....as I have still not bought any mobile phone yet, blabbering away about them all till now. haha ) One of the shops called back after about one hour we left the shop to look at Charles and Keith outlet in Pavilion KL. Hmm....a little bit of diversion, this is the first time I am seeing Charles and Keith in Malaysia. Well...the shoes are rather nice and light, and "proudly" made in China. They are cool shoes though ;)

Ok, back to what I wanted to say... mmm..or I think I should stay away from the mobile phones for now and say something else? yeah....what I want to say is.. this really nice sale package that has been done by Harvey Norman. Interesting...really interesting.

As I was passing, then I saw that the price seems unusual. So when my big baby and me came to take a closer look it gets even more interesting! Seems that the Philips LCD TV is coming down to a very good price!!! The 37" HDMI types that they were showing, were realy nice.

At Harvey Norman, there is this sale for the month of July, so I was in there looking at those LCD HD TV, and seems that the 37" tv has been more and more seen on the shelves, Be it Philips, Samsung or LG. Previously we usually see 32" and 42", rarely see 37". So now we can see many. What was interesting while window shopping on those, was the home theater. Two things :-
1) HTS8100 DVD Home Theater System
2) HTS6600 Home Theater System
Anyway, both are interesting. Philips come out with the technology that they claimed as enhanced frequency response with Ambisound. Hmm...well, whatever it is, the crisp sound and you can really her the beauty of sound with those realy nice DVD Home Theater System. It has 3-band EQ for optimal cross-over that from what I understand was, there will be clear voices and clarity in the mid/high range with soft dome tweeters!! Hmm... there was one corner at Harvey Norman where the Philips HTS8100 that I think shows one set of Home Theater at 50% discount! Really slurrrppyy..... hehehehe

Very hard to describe how nice it was... you just have to be there to appreciate the clarity of sound. Really nice... mmm... should consider getting the Home Theater System...it was really like sitting in the cinema! :) Harvey Norman having some sorts of sale.... can take a look at those!

Lenovo IdealPad U110

I was passingby and browse through what's in the market since my big baby was looking around for notebooks as he has the plans of getting a new notebook soon. For this reason, I stumble upon this said model from Lenovo.

I am actually not a big fan of Lenovo product even though I am using one!! Anyway, I was looking at one website, it does show that this Lenovo T61 is expensive. Mmm..however, for me...it made my shoulder ache after few hours carrying it around.
Ok, back to wat I wanted to tell you all.

This U110 I saw was cool. It has red colour and there is the black one. What the points being promoted were the notebook being Ultrastylish and Ultramobility or Ultraportable. As much as what I like is that it is lightweight, I also like the appearance of this notebook. Have colour and patterns but didn't look girlish!! It is really cool....

This notebook has bluetooh and webcam, what was offered as I saw it at Low Yat was it comes with Intel Centrino processor technology which is the Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 (LV), Windows Vista Home Premium, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, 120GB SATA HDD (5400rpm), also have external multiburner drive for DVD-RW, Intel Graphics media accelerator X3100, 11"WXGA, 7 cell-ion technology and comes with 1 year regional carry-in warranty.

Price...mmm....interesting to say it was selling at about RM6799 when I was there. Have two colours, red and black. Well.....notebooks seem to be like mobile phones the way I see it. One day you buy, the next day it became obsolete. hahaha!

Samsung F480 and Nokia 6500 Slide

Ok, as the title goes....they are in two different category and two different brands. Hey, I am still waiting for the Samsung F480 to go into the MY market before I decide what to buy. Apparently Samsung F480 will have a different name in different countries.

It seems that some places it will be known as Samsung Touchwiz while in UK it will be known as Samsung Tocco. Hmm...why is the different names?? Does that bore any significance in terms of the model name? Is F480 not agreeable? Anyhow, I don't know what's the purpose of different names though I assume it is just a marketing strategy.

Hmm.....though I am looking forward to see it as it seems to appear rather similar to LG KS20 in terms of the outlook and the touchscreen thingy, and with good reviews in the west about F480, I am more interested to know how good the F480 is. Then again only the price is something that I don't like to hear. haha... coz it seems the price range will be from USD600-700. Hmm.....not a nice thing when talking about RM!!

Well, will see how it is...otherwise I will probably settle with a rather basic mid range phones like the Nokia 6500 Slide. I actually ordered this phone through my bank, and I bought it to give to my mum, since her phone is also getting crazier than mine! She won't want something so sophisticated, but I felt that she deserve a nice phone and so when that offer came, I bought it. Yesterday the phone arrived at my doorstep (not literally though!) and I was trying it out this morning...and hmm....... I was wondering shouldn't I buy 2 units at that time instead of just one??? teehee...... Seems that it is more to my taste than the N series my dad is using.

So, it looks like if the touchscreen phones are not something I find reasonable in terms of price and budget, I probably will just go for something of the usual stuff and consider taking the Nokia 6500 Slide instead. hahaha...

Well....see how it goes in the next few weeks. Just waiting for the F480 to hit the shores before I really decide what I want for myself. Hopefully before that happens, my phone won't die off yet. So far, it still survived..though the camera already died off. Hmm...

ER season 15

Thinking about all my favourite series, like House MD, Grey's Anatomy and another favourite of mine is from my student days and that is ER. Geez....didn't expect that this series can be a long time series and still ongoing. As these series are my favourites, not to mention the Japanese anime Black Jack... ER is really something like my "growing up" adulthood serials. :)

So after so many years with the changing of characters in the seasons...(reminds me of a song title, Seasons Change! ) ...and so I suppose finally ER is going to say goodbye. It is the season 15 going to be ending soon and I suppose I will have to start hunting for my DVD box sets for this. Season 15 is going to be the Grand Finale of the series.....

I have ER season 1-8 in one big box that I actually got from UK, and which later on made me knock my head because Malaysia has it at Speedy too!! But they actually came out after I finished my whole series till the season 8. I have been looking for season 9 and I couldn't find it. Until recently that I found on http://www.amazon.com/ that Season 9 will only come out next month! Hmmm...ok, so that means I am actually not far behind!!

Eagerly waiting from the news that I heard, season 15 will be out later this year. So, I am just patiently waiting until I can have my hands on the season 9 box set right up to 15 when this has been released as well. Wah...I can hardly wait!!!!!

Mmm....and patiently waiting when I came to know that Grey's Anatomy is back!! Hope soon I will get to grab the DVD boxset for Season 4 as well.... mmmmm...waiting...waiting...and waiting.....

FujiFilm Funpix S100FS

What made it really tempting besides the price is..
1. Image quality....that it really looks sharp...and for this DSLR-like model, it has really good high-ISO performance, mm...really impressive :)

2. One thing that it is also interesting is that it has fast RAW performance... as compared to some other models tried which were rather slow. Hmm.. that made it even more interesting.

3. I would say all the rest of the features in this model is all great for a DSLR-like model. I would say also that only the noise reduction is not so great when you actually look really close to the fine details. Hmm.... I wonder how far is this going to be important in the long run??

Otherwise, everything else seems great, overall it is good, image quality is really satisfying. Aaah.... now it gets more tougher if this is going to be a good bargain or not...

Mmm....well, I better move on and look at other things while the big baby thinks about what he's going to get to "treat" his itchy hands on this thing :)

Digital camera search part II

Hmm...after going around, funny thing that it was only one shop that has the Fuji S100FS on sale while the rest still putting the price at about RM2300. I was almost laughing when we reached the shop, the guy who was sitting in the shop saw my big baby and said..." you still haven't decided?" Hehehe.... this big baby is still contemplating whether to get the DSLR-like or just go straight for the Sony A300 DSLR.

As I was browsing through those cameras on display, I seems to be attracted to Canon Powershot G9 for a non-DSLR. Well, as much as I also like the DSLR but mm...for me, I have to be practical for myself and look for those non-DSLR types :) Price seems ok at less than 2k, which I would say it is reasonable since it is a model that comes out only late last year here.

Hmmm..however, G9 rather disappointing that it has noise that is not likeable for a G series and the "point and shoot" on this compact camera is a little bit not as how I'd expect it to be..sigh..

Ok, maybe I should forget the G9 already and let's look again at the Fuji S100FS. Funny thing about this one is that some of the shops that I went to with my big baby, almost all don't have the FujiFilm model. So one shop my big baby actually placed his name and phone number for them to call when the stock comes in. Now I wonder why that particular shop we went, remembered big baby's face for coming in a few times to look at that FujiFilm and he has one and only FujiFilm S100FS in his showcase while other shops don't have it?? Interesting.... and he dared say that try go other shops, we won't get the great price he offered anywhere. Hmm..apparently he was right. So my big baby gets more itchy about getting that FujiFilm S100FS at that shop.

Well...when getting more and more info, it gets more tougher as to what to decide on. Whether to get that FujiFilm S100FS or take that Sony A300? Hmm...well, after going around again looking at the DSLRs and the non-DSLRs and the DSLR-like models.... we are still left undecided what is the best option.

What would you do? Would you take FujiFilm S100FS offering at RM1900 or taking the Sony A300 at RM2700 instead?

Digital camera search

Have been talking about digital cameras as not just the usual digital cameras, but the DSLR types. Hmm...the more readings done, the more confused of what is good to have and what is not.

Ok, for amateur photography but serious in it, may want to try out probably the entry level of DSLR or...another option is the DSLR-like :)

Interesting to see recently that in KL, there is the shop that giving such a competitive price that this big baby of mine really really feels itchy in getting one! Well, naturally that might come to mind when a FujiFilm S100FS the DSLR-like camera putting a price at RM1900 (though not all shops offer this, the rest are mostly RM2300) while if you really think hard about the DSLR range, then there is the Sony A300 with a RM2700 price tag.

Hmm...of course it all comes down to what is your budget like, but for a person who is not doing photography full time, being an amateur photgrapher that seriously liking photography and learning it....what would be the option?

A friend who is a professional photographer suggested taking the Nikon D40 as compared to taking the D60. He said the D40 is good enough for a serious amateur photographer to start with. hmm...but my big baby doesn't like the image quality and he comes back to the choice of FujiFilm S100FS and the Sony A300.

Looking at the image quality that these two models produce, not bad... The good thing about the FujiFilm S100FS is that you only use one lens and no need to change. Ok, probably we can say that it is because this is not a DSLR. :) However, this thing is rather heavy....weighing about 1kg...mm..not a good thing for a small person like me!

Anyway...I'm going out to check on those again and will comment more about them later. The big baby is going to see those this afternoon :)

Well...now we are coming in to the month of May...ok, looking back to April, being my month.... seeing so many games coming out every now and then, especially those that come out in the Q1 this year mm..... it can make you undecided which game to get first for your Nintendo DS!

If you notice that recently there was a comment posted here that the person is playing The World Ends With You....and well, apparently looking at charts of buyers at the shop and in terms of popularity being mentioned often lately here in MY, is this title.

I would say in April that the favourite seems to be The World Ends With You on Nintendo DS!!
When come to think of it, yes, I would say Jupiter and Square Enix did make a good job of it, just look at the RPG. It is nice. Well, how it stays that way and those who haven't got the game, you can consider getting it!!!

Obsession : Aphrodite Collection

As much as I don't want to talk abot mobile phones that much here, but right now I really want to say about it.. Not because of anything...but just because I saw something that I never seen. Maybe some of you have..well, I haven't.

This obsession collection is only two models. One yellow gold and one white gold. Hmm....so you know what to expect? Well..it is afterall being called as Luxury Mobile Phones...so you know how it is. Interesting enough to know that is has 2 megapixels integrated digital camera, dual SIM card technology that you actually can activate both SIM cards at the same time, and even while you are having a conversation in one SIM card. 5 hours talk time and 120 hrs for standby. Well, since it is a luxury phone, that is good enough! What more, it has GPRS, MP3 an MP4! Hmm.. talk about having phones. I would say this model has the basic things you need in a phone..

Nintendo DS - Rondo of Swords

Hmm..it has been awhile since my last entry. Life has been very busy and so many things happen at the same time that I can't actually sit down and do things like this. In other words, my leisure time seems absurd at times.

Anyway, I make a quickie look around during my lunch hour, and so this is what I wanted to tell. Not everybody will know about this game, or heard of it but I know some of you out there do go for this kind of games or heard of it or play it before.

It is a game that I would say coming from the medieval time and it is a strategy game and entertaining for those who have known this game before. Hm...I don't know how to say it or describe it. Hmm.... well, let's put it this way.. it is a classic strategy RPG kind of game.

It may be a bit troublesome when you are in the middle of the game, like when you need something, that you have to get a person to go get it for you and with limitation. Hmm... I suppose that is expected of a game :)

Well....I don't actually know how to describe or how to tell about this game, but it reminds me of my all-time favourite Diablo!! Only that this is something in a Nintendo DS, but of course with a different story line. However, just to say that if you want to try out something different from your norm, you can with this one! ;)

Trauma Center 2 on Nintendo DS

If you remember 3 years ago there was this Trauma Center game that as it sounds, a surgical procedure kind of action game. Well, latest news is there is Trauma Center 2 coming out. Title is Trauma Center : Under the Knife 2, this game will probably be something I will wait to see.

This game still using the same character of Dr. Stiles and Nurse Thomson and seems that the storyline continues from the first game. Hmm..start digging back your old game to refresh your memory if you forgot where you left off! :)

Well, for those who just started with the Nintendo DS, maybe you can go find the old game so that when the new game comes out, it will be much more appreciated when you play. As this is actually a continuation story on what happens after the plague epidemic to the patients of Dr. Stiles. The previous game is all about the epidemic and in this sequel, it is going to be about what happens after that. Would be interesting to see how the sequel is, whether it is more interesting or getting a bit boring as few other "medical" games that I have played, seems to get very boring after awhile. It gets monotonous, flat and losing the challenges like other games do. Anyway, that can be known soon when I get my hands on it!

This game should come out in about 2 months time, mm..can start checking out in the MY stores on this. This picture is taken from the IGN website. Hmm...something for Nintendo DS fans to look out for, if you like something medical :) I'm waiting for it!!!

Samsung F480

I am still surveying about mobile phones, well...my phone is not dead yet, so there is still time to search around. haha... My phone is getting more crazier at time now, but well it is still "alive"! Anyway, as I am still thinking of which phone to buy, I thought I will just get a simple phone that gives me a lot of things that I like, something like the SE K660i or maybe since the touchscreen in a trend, I will just settle with LG KS20. Hmm...but no... to wait for SE G700 or G900 is something of an uncertain time though rumour has it that these models will come out in the mid of the year.

Anyhow, another one coming out most probably next month and that is Samsung F480 which I find a really cool phone. Having all the features that I need, also in fashion with the touchscreen, looks something like LG KS20, but so far what the people who have tried or knew about this model say one of the disadvantages is not having the Wifi.

Aaah...... now why is that? And do you think that is really necessary? Hmm...maybe to a lot of people on the move, but I think I can still survive without it for this time.

Interesting to know that this candy bar looks like KS20! Well, that kind of design seems a popular one with some brands too. Probably coz it looks like a sleek simple smartphones. Well, I like it.. haha

Sony Cyber-shot DSC T300

I was going around looking at cameras, apart from thinking about which mobile phone model to buy, I was also considering which digital camera that I will buy after that... so I went around just to browse through what's in store.

So what gave me a nice first impression was the Sony Cyber-shot DSC T300. Hmm...however, as many other reviews that you might have read... I think I will have to reconsider about this model also... It is really nice...really cool but...comparing it with its predecessors....it doesn't look great. Hmm...so new stuff not necessarily better.

Though the megapixels seems great, but as said...the previous model like the T200 and more so even the T100 looks better!! Hmm....... but with the present camera that I have which my dad is using now (also a reason why I wanted to get another camera when "situation" permits!), this camera with the 3.5" touchscreen seems attractive. However, what is important in a camera is the images taken right?? so, this one won't be on top of my list for giving me such images....although I would say, it is still acceptable to me, but hmm....I think if my boyfriend sees it, he will sure say the images are not that good. That statement will surely bring my spirits down! haha... anyway, though it looks good...but mm...can't be on top of my list. Maybe for some people who are not fussy (I am not really fussy though) they might consider this camera, coz it does look good, but when we are the types who likes to really sit down and play around with it, mm...might not be totally happy with it.

I am also thinking and contemplating, as touchscreen is a trend these days, even digital cameras are coming out with touchscreen, I am not sure now whether I want it with a touchscreen or not. I find that touchscreen might give me more mistakes to make then no touchscreen. What if I press something accidentally??? hmm....and that also goes with the mobile phone. I am still contemplating, should I take a phone with a touchscreen or without? So with camera next in line, should I get a camera with a touchscreen or not? With it, that the LCD screen at 3.5" seems really something nice, which I really like as compared to my old digital camera with tiny little screen to look at.

Oh well......I suppose I will just keep looking for the time being, afterall, I am in no rush to get it. Any suggestion of what is nice to get when I want to buy one soon???

LG KS20 the HSDPA smartphone

Yesterday I was going out still looking at the mobile phones (lucky...my phone is not dead yet, though it does go bonkers sometimes!!!) and so I stumble upon the new LG KS20!! I only read about it recently, but yesterday I did get to see it and try it out.

Hmm....it impresses me...I like the outlook for one as a first impression. It is to my liking as compared to some other PDA phones. Nice large screen at 2.8 inch. The touchscreen seems nice and not so small as what I have tried on the HTC touch phone. This one is more to my liking than the HTC in some ways. Though it is only 2 megapixels for the camera, but to me it is good enough. I don't really crazy over camera with 3.2 megapixels or more than that. 2 is just fine with me. Comes along with the auto focus, flash and optical zoom...so it is good enough on a phone for me :)

Other than that, the MP3 player is there, so I can still have good ringtones or just listening to songs when I am really bored!! The 128MB internal memory plus the microSD external that can support up to 2GB, is also good enough for me. I don't really need a big one till 4GB! Obviously this one is with Bluetooth too..hmm..if a PDA phone without it, then I will think it is a stupid PDA phone..hehe... I really use the bluetooth feature especially while I am having tea or driving. Can't leave without a bluetooth feature :)

Well...the point is...this LG KS20 layout seems nice to my eyes and "friendly" to my fingers... coz...well, I am not like having nice long finger nails and slender long fingers to have small keys on a touch screen types...I need BIG ones that are easy to touch and use!! Well, this model seems to have it rather nicely.

This phone also offers Windows Mobile 6!!!! This is really cool. sluurrpp!! Nice..which put it on my wish list at the top than bottom. Teehee...not that it is a necessity, but it is a great thing to have on my phone when I get it :)

At Digimall when I went to see the LG KS20, the price is at RM1888. How much is elsewhere? I haven't been out to other place to check it out yet...As I said, I have been very busy lately to actually go around and window shop these stuff.

To say it is really new....not so new....to say it is old...obviously not so old, the thing is as I have said for awhile that I am still looking for a mobile phone..and yes, I am still looking...sigh... I am still confused which phone to buy as my present phone is just waiting to die. I hope it won't die before I get to decide which phone I will buy next...

I have been thinking about buying a Sony Ericsson...and yet, I am still searching which one I will like best. However, one day I was at a hypermarket and this handphone shop guy was showing me the Nokia models... He said, why not see again the new range of Nokias... Ok, so I just let him tell me the Nokia model's "selling points".

While he was talking away, I was not really listening. haha... Coz I was busy looking at the Nokia range that he has. So, I saw this Nokia 2630.It is only a mere 9.9mm in thickness which really make me feel "yummy!" on this phone. It has the VGA camera which has a 4x digital zoom, video recorder and large memory for phonebook where you can keep more than 1k entries! Can store photos up to 100, have the bluetooth feature, MP3, and FM radio. Organizer seems nice and it has 128 x 160 TFT colour display. Can do emails, have the foreign language dictionary as well.

This mobile phone model has pretty basic feature which actually can be good enough for me, though I sometimes do need those other gadgets in a phone. teehee!! Hmm....well, something nice to browse on. Hmm....well, nice to make a comparison to what my preferences are...mm..... (still thinking)

Well..I am still confused which mobile phone to buy soon. Any suggestions?? I am actually waiting for Sony Ericsson X1 !!!!!! I really want to see it but...hmm...when it comes out, it will be as beautiful as the price, right? sigh..............

eTouch D20

Hmm...I have been soo busy that I didn't get the time to look around and think about the stuff that I like looking and commenting about :) Anyway, now I am going to blabber to myself again about the things I like to see around me...er..not exactly.... Well ok...the thing that I saw today while I was going around to look at mobile phones (my phone still hanging on there, so I still got time to look around!!) and so I saw this phone that some people were actually at the showcase and was looking at it.

There I was, busy body wanting to know what model were they looking at and so it was eTouch D20. Hmmm.....what caught the attention of many at that point of time was...the Dual Sim convenience. I never seen this phone before this, have you??

Ok, the phone is the wafer type of look, and I suppose like what I mentioned that it has Dual SIM card support. You can actually allows both your SIM cards to stay connected simultaneously, unlike some phones that only can activate once and the other one is not active.

Interesting enough that is has 2.4" screen, 262k QVGA, it also has the trend of now, the touchscreen with Stylus!!! Not to mention it also has MP3/MP4, has T-Flash card slot.

Hmm....one thing I didn't get to ask was......where is this brand originated from? Hmm....do you know? (I think it is probably comes from China as many people have been talking about it and the brand sounds rather new to me. teehee) If you know anything about it, please do let me know. I just saw it like that, but didn't get the chance to ask anything.

Sony Ericsson Z555i

Hmm... Soon I will need to get a new mobile phone for myself as the one I am having right now for some years seems to be dying soon? However, with so many mobile phones around, I tend to get a little bit confuse as to what I would like to have, what kind of preferences means more to me that other features and so on.

Hmm....been away for quite awhile, travelling everywhere, all the more reason for not being able to think about this too! Anyway, now here I am again...and wondering what I should do about it.

While looking around with the ones in the market, I stumbled upon something that is coming out soon. I do consider about other brands of phones but my tendency to see Sony Ericsson made me see what they have in the market and that's when I came to know about Z555i that is coming out in Malaysia soon. Hmm...

This one I suppose is not to what I will buy for myself personally. Again as I said, it all depends on what is an individual preferences, and so this one is not in my list. However, what caught my attention was the intention for attention is on the fashion side. With other brands having their own style of marketing, having some selling points which include fashion....so SE is coming up with this as fashion.

The design does attract attention in some ways...just like LG does with LG Shine and Viewty. Another shaking phone of SE, this Z555i is also another "shaking" phone. Not about touchscreen here. teehee....

This flip phone is something I thought Samsung will come up with. However, it is SE... This flip phone will have the name of the caller shown on the outer shell which has a unique way of designs on it. It has all the basic features and camera with it, where the lens placed not like usual sitting of a square lens, it was placed like a diamond. Will come out in 2 colours of black and dusted rose, this phone looks interesting. However, the memory stick micro M2 only supports to 12MB memory which not everyone can survive with!

This phone also having as what I have said, "shaking" phone. It has a gesture control, where you just need to move your hand over it just to mute an incoming call or just to snooze the alarm that you have set. Hmm..sounds familiar? Well...this one has it.

How beautiful it is for a fashion phone...just wait when it comes out and see!!

Apple MacBook Air

Been busy since the start of the new year...and more so that I've been out of the country for some weeks. Ok, grabbing a few minutes, just can't wait to talk about this.

I just met a doctor who has been using Apple notebook for quite awhile and she said that she is so used to Apple notebook that when she tried to use other models, seems doesn't feel right. She gets back to Apple. Hmm...then today I stumbled upon this Apple Macbook Air. Interesting..

Apple MacBook Air is a model that is said to be ultrathin. It has some sort of what they say an oversize trackpad...and well, with the touchscreen trends these days....this notebook comes with a multi-touch technology. So basically like how you use your touchscreen mobile phones, this notebook works the same. Not just clicking on like a mouse kind of touch pads..... so it works more than that which Apple put in to the notebook after done so on iPhone and iPod which I would say give them a boost of popularity so they do the same for the notebook. Hmm...nice..

This thin notebook comes with a 2GB RAM and 80GB hard drive...ample space of memory if you think about it for a thin notebook. Whatmore that you do have the option of upgrading it up to 64GB in solid-state drive and it has 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Cool eh?

I have yet to try on the battery life..since they say you can go online for 5 hours in spite of the slim battery. Hmm..... and more interesting this notebook also comes with the built-in camera which they call as iSight camera. This can go along with its iChat software for your video call.

I wonder if this notebook can be as smooth in usage as any other notebooks? This is because in MY, I seems to hear some unhappy tones with the iMac because of some compatibility and usage. Well, I have yet to find out more. No time yet for now...sigh....

oh, the screen is a 13.3" LED display by the way... :)

Nintendo DS game : Rhythm 'n Notes

When people are talking about DS games, there are a lot of nice games out there...and so, comes the ones who wanted to do something else other than action games and arcade games, tired of racing games in circuits or rally ones, so we go musical.

Then what happen? It was suppose to be so-called improving your knowledge about music and the key notes base on the keyboard of a piano kind at first..

However, this game has been getting bad reviews which I would agree to as well.. Sigh....

There are two parts in the game which is the rhythm section and the other is the note section which is rather what you can think about even when you see the game title anyway. Anyway, as the game itself....as for me or those who have the background of learning music like the piano lessons we went to as a little girl (or little boys for others) we would know what to do from the first level. For those who don't know a thing about music will definitely get mad with this game. Rather disappointing because if you don't know the chords, how do you know what were the keys? What more when they actually asking about the chords!! Even in the beginner class for the piano lessons I had as a kid we don't go to doing the chords first!! See..even starting of the game already start to disappoint some gamers who might feel eager to get this game..

Hmm.....a lot of people won't like this one..and I can admit I don't too. Elite Beat Agents will be a better buy than this..far more better, with nicer songs and more fun in it for a game.

Well.... it happens some times eh.... not all games can be nice to play....

Seems that it is designed to fit your hand position, so it is said to be an ergonomic design. There are multiple features set on the mouse too...with 5 buttons that can be customized. So you can programmed it for the variety of functions you want to use as you like it, like getting your quick access to the program files or the media files or the files that you often use/open which you can set to just open with a click. In other words, you have your own shortcuts!!

The middle wheel you can scroll to display your open windows straight away, then you just need to click and select. Simplify things I suppose ..

It is also a 4-way scrolling which is also interesting to try out on.

There is the magnifier where you can point and click to straight away enlarge it, however you should check on the compatibility and requirements for this feature to work. :) and this mouse has battery indicator too..so obviously you need to have battery for it. You need the AA alkaline battery for this mouse. Hmm..I was expecting it to use the small cell battery like the ones you use in watches and scientific calculators :)

Anyway, maybe you would like to take a look on this mouse when you see it out there ;) unless you still prefer to just get a RM15 mouse in town. teehee......

Knight Rider

If you are just as how I was growing up in the early 80s with series like Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman and Rockford Files, you probably would also remember Knight Rider. Haha... Well, if you remember about KITT the talking car and if you noticed websites even like Yahoo! talking about this TV-movie, then you know what I am talking about.

Interesting to know that they come up with a new car and not the one that we actually remember about KITT. This time apparently is as you know not David Hasselhoff acting but a young guy that they made to be Michael Knight's son.

Using Ford Mustang Shelby that they actually made 6 units for the movie, with the model number GT500KR I heard. Hmm......it is a good thing that they don't do a remake. It is made like as if a continuation of the story since it is a story of Michael Knight's son, who obviously sort of like replacing him on the gong ons as how the series were before. BUT....in a different way, where the son actually seems reluctant to be in the situation but can't help getting into one.

What I can say is, I am curious to know how that movie will be like when it comes out in February in USA. Here? Lets just wait and see when it reaches Malaysian shores :) Well, the car will still talk like the old KITT did and moving and driving on its own too!!

Well.....now talking about mobile phones, was looking around to see about SE P1, that Sony Ericsson Smartphone types that just recently came out in the market but......I ended up looking at something black and orange combination that caught my eyes. The Motorola Z6 kinds...

This Motorola Rokr Duo as they call it, is the Jay Chou Limited Edition pack apparently. This one comes the Motorola Z6, with free bluetooth device, the Motorola Bluetooth Active headphone S9 which priced at Rm399. The limited edition package costing at Rm1099 so it is a good buy really.

Did you see it around? Well, go take a look at the handphone shop. It is worth a buy looking at the package as it does comes with the charger, battery and all that stuff including the S9 headset, what more can you ask for? The music seems nice and clear on the S9 headset. Anyway, you better go take a look and probably should start planning to buy if you really do have the budget and plan on getting a handphone now. It's really cool....!

Samsung P2 MP3 player

Hmm....for so long I have been very busy and didn't get the time to even have my own space for hobbies...like this one! :)

Well, people have been talking about touchscreens gadgets and I seems to be hearing this more lately, and even more so that I would think there'll be a lot more people talking when they are also those who are so much into mp3 players.

Why I say this is because now that I stumbled upon Samsung mp3 players, last time I have been saying about Samsung K3 and the brothers and cousins...and now Samsung comes out with P2. This one has a 3" touchscreen with a 16:9 wide screen format, which I think for some people this will be something they would go for??

It has the built-in bluetooth, so you know what bluetooth can do right? So, if you have your mobile phone ringing, you can answer it from the P2 as well...er.... is that necessary?? hmm....

It is multi-format friendly it seems...so you know it will take in the mp3 obviously, and you can play the wma, wma-drm, mpeg4 and also wmv9 as well. Tempting for some of you?? You can also go on Napster with it, though...er...Napster is not like how it was. teehee... however, just to say that it is interesting to see the features on P2.

Good to know that it also supports 4GB and 8GB Flash memory so it means you'll get more rooms for whatever content that you want to put in. They claim that it has battery durability of 30 hours for audio and up to 5 hours of video. To know for sure, I will have to try that out which I haven't! It has the Fm radio and recorder too.

Comes in 3 colours, black, white and burgundy....I suppose you have the options to what you like on the appearance. It has many other features which I think it is just like the mobile phone since it has alarm clock and calendar, and all that stuff, just that you don't do any phone diallings with it!! You can customize the menus too.

So, probably it is worth to take a look if you are planning to buy a new mp3 player that you want to bring along everywhere you go. Maybe you were planning to look at the K3, so take a look at P2, maybe this one gives you a better preferences? Hmm...however, sound wise...that is still up to individual. some people don't like Samsung for this audio stuff..while others don't mind. I would say you see Apple iPhone and HTC Touch, and more talks about touchscreen, well this one is another touchscreen that you might want to touch as well!! What you need is...go take a look and explore this as an option before you get one mp3 player for yourself or whoever you are buying for. :)

I was looking around at what the Philips company will say...their family day?? so I went to look at the products they are having at their Singapore showroom. There it was, a full HD TV that comes with a unique design that has the 'ambilight innovation of which I have never seen in other products as of now.

The ambilight is the lighting that comes from the back of the TV body and this technology actually automatically adjusts the colour as well as brightness of the lights surrounding the TV just to make the pictures almost matched. Cool eh?

There is also a feature what they call as Ambilight Spectra. This is like a surround for the eyes. How does that work? well....get one unit and see what it is all about!!

This TV supports 1080p, playable blu-ray disc, and compatible for usage of camcorder too. What I can say is that, for a flat screen TV that you are looking for, this one here is worth to look out for and find out. It is afterall, a little bit unique with that lights around it...and of course the technology that it has, with no flicker and no artifacts seen as how you see often in some other LCD TVs... try find out. It's cool.

HP Touchsmart PC

HP has been advertising their ranges nowadays as you might notice. So when people talk so much about notebooks, some people still think about PC and this is something that we like to have at home..(maybe some for offices too). So, there was the Sony very compact PC that came out and here, another nice option from HP and that is the TouchSmart PC.

This model has a touchscreen feature, which I suppose many screens are starting to be like this? Even nicer that this HP TouchSmart is also easy to use and also can combine with the HP printers that you can print out photos very nicely too (aren't all PCs should be compatible with printers? hehe..of course it should. What am I talking here? )

However, I came to know that some who uses this is not really happy with it, comparing it to Apple's iMac (aah...this one is something I like too actually..) Well..what I can say is that, before you think of buying HP TouchSmart PC, check out the specs really well and if it is something you like. To me, this TouchSmart is if we are putting in family stuff like schedules for this and that, photos etc, this one would be great since it is rather comprehensive in the features, and might be good for the household with the touchscreen. Mom might find using the mouse rather awkward...so this can be nice for her. (I am not going to put here all the specs bla bla..... you can check those in the websites. hehe)

Different people have different preferences so don't know what's yours. Go check out the PC if you are planning to buy one, and see what you think of it? The outlook to me is cool... mm... but I still like Apple iMac. Hmm....well, I still have time to think about which one I will get for my house PC.

Nokia NSeries

I was in GSC going to watch a movie, when came this advertisement on the screen which at first I was no idea what it was until later. So there it is, Nokia Nseries the N81. Hmm....I thought this model was already in the market quite awhile ago, and only today that I saw the ad in the cinema? Hmm...

It is a 8GB phone. Hmm...for those who likes the "big memory" willl like this I suppose... Otherwise, it is just like every other phones with camera and mp3 thingy with it. This one, rather slim and looking at this Nokia, apparently they are getting into making nicer models in terms of appearance and also the settings.

Anyway go see the advertisement or go to the handphone shop and try the phone out... For those who don't know about this particular Nseries, even more so you need to just go visit one shop and try out this phone. It is a slide phone with camera lense at the back of the phone, and have something for a substitute of your ps2 and psp games!! It is like the N-gage installed in it. :) Go see the phone...it is not bulky either ;)

Crysis PC game

People has been talking a lot about console games, and yesterday I went around looking at some games while my boyfriend was searching and exchanging a game he didn't want, I came across all the PC games that I have sort of forgotten for awhile. For so long I have been playing flash games on PC, the Yahoo! games and all that stuff then it comes back to me about the DVD games for the PC that I have so long have not been playing.

Some games that I saw yesterday were games out of some horror storyline, which something I am going to try again soon when time permits. Anyway, there is this new game releasing this week (in fact a lot of games are going to be released this week!) and what I am thinking about is on Crysis.

Crysis has beautiful images for a PC game, and shooting game like this, it actually competes well with Halo 3. For those who loves shooting game, this one is something you can look out for. Nice images, but what you must recheck is...the power of your computer :) isn't that always something you do when you play on PC? :) As always, check on the spec and see if it can be played on your PC. This really suck your PC power kinda thing but it is something really cool to try out. If you like halo 3, you might like this too. "Beautiful" violence, the enemies are smart and intelligent, so as a shooter, it is challenging as it is and interesting "real action movie" you get yourself into.

It is going to be release on November 16 so check it out in the local market, you'll probably stumble upon it already :)

Ballon Bleu Cartier watch

Few days ago I received my regular newsletters from some things and then came one occasional one from Cartier. Hm....and this time it catches my attention more than I use to be where Cartier is concern. This brand has been one of my favourite brand in fashion, that I find their designs are alwas a class of exclusiveness...I don't know, I just feel that this brand has always suits my style of fashion. Most of the time....

So, as much as I am not into watches at this time because I have really enough of watches to wear at all occasions, however, this watch is something I can't help but talk about as well !

This watch is rather unique in some ways. This watch is called the Ballonbleu. As its name as such you'll see something that indicates that. This round face romanised numbers and diamonds around it, has that little round blue thing at the side. It reminds me of Transformers..haha...ok, that doesn't sound so classy does it? :) Optimus Primes' eyes...hehe...well, anyhow, it is still unique. Take a look at the watch and you'll know what I mean.

This is another interesting simple game that can be played on Nintendo DS. Something that probably don't really need your brain power that much. Hmm...isn't that something we'd like to do sometimes in our spare time and at the time we are into playing games? :)

Nintendo games

Now has those games that are said to be some best games that people like already available or ready to be downloaded. They are N64, NES, SNES, SEGA Mega Drive, NEOGEO and TurboGrafx (PC Engine) eras in Wii's Virtual Console! New games are added to the Wii Shop Channel every Friday. Well...at least that is what I got from the European news :)

I'm going to dig out later about Nintendo DS and what else in store this month ;)

By the way, have you ever encounter the game for Nintendo DS like that book by Dr. Kawashima? Hm..now Japan has that game of Dr. Kawashima's "How Old is Your Brain?" and also now is hitting Europe as well. Aaaah.....something interesting. Something else for your brain to work on than the usual games you play! you can train both your mental awareness and your memory. Hold the DS vertically, like a book, and write your answers with the stylus on the touch screen. Nicer than doing it in the book I suppose...because if it is in the book and you write with a pencil, then later on when you want to do it again, you have to do something about the scribbles that you last time did! In DS, you save the time about erasing the previous thing you did or whatever pencil markings that you have. So, it saves your energy and time on that part! :)

There's a combination of arithmetic, reading and memory tests, and the program calculates your score in the form of a ‘brain age’ by assessing the speed and accuracy by which you perform these simple tasks. So, you can probably look out for this game and have your brain exercise away with it :) You can also track your progress in the built-in calendar and refer to the easy to understand graphs when you want. There is even the Sudoku game included in it. Check it out! ;)

Swimp3 - another MP3 player

Recently i stumble upon another mp3 player that is meant for those who always go in the water :) swim or surf...u can still listen to music. Hmm....people can't live without music, can they? :)

Anyway, last time I mentioned about one of the same types of product and now I stumbled upon another. This one is by Finis, there are actually two items that I found and now also marketed in Malaysia. SwimP3 and SurfMP3. So as how it sounds, it serves that purpose. For swimming or surfing...u choose which mp3 you want.

This Swimp3 is rather light and striking colour. Blue....normal for water lovers isn't it? If you already have the Swimp3 before...it is also upgradable to the new one that Finis has come out with...Swimp3 v2.

This gadget relies on the bone conduction for your sound wave to travel. Hmm...pretty logical since you are listening to music while swimming!When the device is placed on any bones of the skull (i.e. the cheek bones or the mastoid tip) it leads to vibration of the fluid in the inner ear.

It is said to be safe and it is a proven technology, so I suppose there is nothing to worry about for those who are rather scpetical about it. :)

Anyway, go try and check it out anywhere if you see it, or you can also try looking at the site at http://www.swimshop.com.my/ and look for this gadget there. This thing is PS and MAC compatible, with 256MB and have rechargable battery, it supports both mp3 and WMA, and can plug directly to a USB port. Simple isn't it?

Mmm...now so much for a horror movie...here's for the Nintendo DS... Dementium. This one will be out end of the month so take a look out for this in town if you are the House of The Dead kind of fan :)

So this is a horror game..hmm....something I don't really play in games before actually.. however, this game is about a man who finds himself in a hospital and frozen in time. Confronted by the dead and having lots of puzzles to solve, with peculiar characters in it, I suppose this can be a change for some who plays the usual stuff :) A different scenario with eerie music, and a different ambience from House of The Dead for those who played that game ! :)

Sony Ericsson K770i out already!

Recently I found out that this phone is already out in the market here in MY. Hmm.....the first time I saw was in Ultra Violet colour. Nice and cool. This model of mobile phone from Sony Ericsson which is labelled as K770i also comes in another 2 more colours which are Sandy Beige and Truffle Brown. This time, to me all the three colours are fine. Looks nice.

The specification that they put for this model as its strong selling point will be its camera and the slimness or the thin body like a chocolate wafer you want to eat! :) With 3.2 megapixels, pictures will surely be nice for a mobile phone. I suppose it becomes a bigger brother of K750i that is the one we know having camera with 2 megapixels, in this sense. Back again, as I said it probably is to be K770i's selling point, like K800i with the same megapixels. With this 3.2 megapixels, this camera is also auto focus, with digital zoom of 3x, in spite of poor lightings it can still be good with its own lightings provided. You can do picture blogging straight from this phone or just do the video recording if that is your preference. Hmm..however, it uses LED for the photolight. You think that is better than the Xenon types?

It comes with Bluetooth (ok, I think now all phones should have it anyway!) which you can listen to music by using a wireless connection! Hmm...but this is having Bluettoth technology but not the Bluetooth wireless technology like K800i and K810i?? Hmm....Anyway, it has the 3D games to keep you occupied or just listen to the radio on it.

It is a quad band and comes in 16MB memory size and using Memory Stick Micro support, which is up to 2GB. Hmm..is that enough? Maybe it has something to do with the thin and sleek model that they put on for this K770i. Oh, and I think I like the keypad better too as compared to K810i.. :)

However, this phone was talked about since a couple of months ago and so now it is already out in the market!!! Go take a look and see if you like it or not? What do you think of it? To me, the appearance seems nice, usage wise.....mmm..... I am still thinking about the LED and the memory size if that is something "OK" or not. However, if like it...grab it :) I am still searching around for a possibility to get myself another mobile phone and this phone,hmm.....may be on my list as well. :)

Crayola Travel Adventure

This game is not like the usual games we play. Must be some collaboration with Crayola crayons? Well, the concept is like a colouring book with an adventure as per the title. It is a virtual box of crayons and it makes your Nintendo DS into a colouring book with variable adventures while going through it with numerous possiblities. It is not that you think you'll be spending your time just colouring pictures all the way...as it is not. This is afterall, a game.

So it may seems easy to go up the levels of the adventures, but towards the end, the colouring that you do in order to complete more of the missions in the adventures, you'll need to colour at a faster pace than you normally do. So this can be quite challenging if you colour the pictures slowly. :)

Anyway, it might be fun to play on such games when you are in the mood of not using too much of your brain to strategise your games for some people :) There are over 100 pages of colouring images to choose from and each one has its own story inclusive of some dinosaurs, or some cartoon characters. Well, it is basically a colouring book video game with virtual crayons of 120 shades of colour to choose from, and sadly to say, you can't save the coloured images when you are done :) and of course colouring and going through the treasure adventures as you go along. It is afterall, a game ;)

Xbox 360 Arcade Edition

It was already announced yesterday about the official launching of Xbox 360 Arcade Edition in the US. This is someting that I really like and I wonder if it ever reaches Malaysia? This is actually something more to my liking during my short hour free time...because of the games that comes for this edition is the games from those childhood days of mine. Really interests me with that game of Uno, Pacman CE, and the one that I use to play on PC...Feediong Frenzy.

Those cute games that nice to play on short period of time and sort of like using less brain works. Haha... well, this is great if I could have it, while I was thinking about the Xbox 360 Halo 3 Limited Edition since it came out!! Wow....I wonder if Xbox 360 will come out with many kinds of editions in the future??

Still...I am waiting to get my hands on that Xbox 360 Arcade Edition if I have the chance! In US it is selling at $279...hmm..sounds even moe interesting! Would it be a competitive market for Wii that sells at $250?

HD DVD movies

I thought I just saw Stardust showing at the local cinema here in MY, then I came to know that Stardust already have the movie on HD DVD. Hmm...cool! That will add to the list of movies on HD DVD like Transformers, Evan Almighty, latest is Return to House on Haunted Hill which was heard that it is not a good one to get. So, maybe if you see the HD DVD movies on sale, Return to House on Haunted Hill should be the last to be considered!!!

Seems that it is a disappointment....so..better think twice before getting it. Hmm...

I wonder why National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation seems to be one that has been remembered all the while? I remember since many years back when I saw it on tv that it was re-run a few times after...and...I still see that title around and now even on HD DVD. Must be really an effect to a lot of people abotu this movie? Well...for some who may never heard of this title, may probably look for it and see what you think about the movie? I feel that it has become something like an evergreen movie like some other oldies. What do you think??

PS3 reduced price!

I have been hearing about this for awhile and today I really need to say this out. Really can't stand it already! Imagine that if you have yet to buy PS3 now.....it is really great to plan in getting one??

This is because of the reduced price of the game console, can you imagine that the Ps3 game console 80GB is now at $499 when previously was priced at $599?? Hmm...really tempting!!!
Even more tempting that the 40GB will be at $399! This will start early November. Hmm...this will be really great offer for the US. Really good...I wish that will apply to MY...sigh... so if that is the case, hop down to Sg and find the PS3 game console there!! :)

There is a slight difference in this new PS3 game console though....it won't be able to play the PS2 games as the other PS3 models because of the new games that is coming up apparently? Hmm..... that is really even more interesting. Going to burn a hole in the pocket for those who loves this!!

Compare the consoles.... it's really worth the offer when xBox 360 is at $350 and nintendo Wii at $250!!!! This is really getting competitive. sigh....now I am getting undecisive if this reaches here!! :)

Ultimate Mortal Kombat

Hmm....remembering this game and the movie of the same title, Mortal Kombat is coming out with the Ultimate Mortal Kombat soon. It is going to be released in November and hopefully it does. This game on Nintendo DS is apparently only get four characters to choose from: the male and female palette-swapped ninjas Scorpion and Reptile, as well as Kitana and Jade.

Midway is doing conversion of Mortal Kombat 3 and Puzzle Kombat for the Nintendo DS. So it seems you can swap the screen in the menu options in the Ultimate Mortal Kombat just the same like you do in Mortal Kombat 3. Apparently, the Nintendo Wi-Fi support is still a key part of the game and well, to find that out, Nintendo DS players should just go test it online. It is best to do it that way. You can also keep track on the wins and losses you have, and well...try it out and find out if you like it, right??

Whatever it is, just check it out as soon this one is going to come out!

Batman : The Dark Knight

Coming your way to 2008, a sequel of Batman Begins! Which is The Dark Knight. Hmm.... this movie will reach our movie screen here in MY next year? I'd be happy to wait for it :) This time The Joker is still going to come up. Well, thinking about the comic books, it is of course one of those "forever" enemies of Batman anyway, right? So, naturally movie sequels have that similarities.

Only too bad, at the time of the film making, one of the crews met with a tragedy and died. Rumour has it that the crew was actually the camera operator while doing a test run on the film making of The Dark Knight. Going in the 4x4 vehicle accidentally hit a tree. Geez....it is a sad thing, but the movie I suppose will just go on??

We'll see when it comes out in July, 2008. I'd like to see if this Batman has a good impact as its previous one, as to me, Spiderman 3 has less impact from the previous sequels. Hmm..probably it came out about the same time with Transformers here in MY that watching one to another between the two movies made it seems my subconscious views on it was altered :) However, Spiderman 3 was still good, and hope that Batman : The Dark Knight will give the same impact where Batman series are concern. :)

Thundercats movie

More interesting it is now that after Transformers become the talk of the town, now Thundercats is probably going up on the big screen soon? Hmm..we might see this next year? Who knows?

Seems that Warner Bros. did talk about this with the veteran on videogames Jerry O'Flaherty about it. So, sticking to the original storyline of Lion-O and friends from the Thundera planet in Thundercats, putting this in a CG-animated adaptation will be another great entertainment treat especially for us who are in the generation of watching Transformers and Thundercats when we were still kids!!!

I'm excited to know when that movie going to finally land to the cinemas here in MY. However, it is obvious that won't be anytime this year. Earliest it would go will be for next year.
Again, we'll see what happens!!!

Transformers 2 movie

Ok, after so long with the blockbusters, and almost everybody know about Transformer movie, Steven Spielberg is going to come up with Transformer 2!! Seems that now it is in the process of preparing for the production.

Apparently that Shia LeBeouf will be returning to play the role as Sam Witwicky in Transformer 2. So...let's see what happens. Maybe we might get to see the sequel next year??? Well...no..the movie will probably be on the wide screen in June,2009. So we have more than a year to wait for it, but...it is worth the wait??? :)

mp3 continues..with Zune 2 and Samsung YP-P2,and T10.

Ok..as I have said, people talk about Zune, the iPod and YP-P2 these days. Next month Zune 2 is going to be released, as been announced that it might come out on November 13th then it comes up with confirming of launching it in October. What is interesting, is that Zune 2 is coming out with 4GB, 8GB and 80 GB. Hmm...so much of a difference..but then again there was the 30GB before. The 80GB comes out in black and it seems the rest of the colours for the 80GB will come out later. So with the rest having red, pink and green, if you want the 80GB in those colours other than black, then you'll just have to wait a little while longer :)

It is suppose to be that Zune 2 is about few percent smaller than the old Zune, by about 27% but it comes in a larger LCD screen at 3.2 inch, which I think would be nice.

It also has the wi-fi feature of including wireless sync with PC. No photo restrinctions if you share photos between Zunes.. I suppose the iPhone touch screen might be something that made everybody wanted to have that as a trend? So even on Zune 2, seems like applying the same kind of style, with the Zune pad that is touch sensitive apart from the regular directional operations on it. This touch pad is squircle in shape and it does reminds me of the HTC Touch phone. hmm.....Well, it is a squircle, which apparently can be a good way to market Zune, and easily noticable from far by just looking at the touch pad shape. :)

Apparently this touch pad might be a way to plan for the 2D gaming in 2008 on Zune!

As for the Samsung YP-P2, hmm..I suppose this one will want to compete with Zune 2. (Seems that any mp3 players just don't seem to compete with iPod? ) Last time I have mentioned about the Samsung YP-K3 and K5 stuff...and now they come up with P2 and with a touch screen GUI.

YP-P2 also comes out with the 3 inch LCD screen and able to play videos as well as the music. However, this one only available with 4GB and 8GB and comes in 3 colours, while the YP-T10 is smaller screen at 2 inch and smaller shell and only comes in 4GB memory size, also with 3 colours. However, the T10 comes in a touch sensitive buttons and not with all-touch interface as the trend now :)

These two Samsungs add something else on these players which is the Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless stereo playback. These two players can play for 2 or 3 people respectively. Seems that samsung not forgetting people who are always attached to their phones that this player is able to detect incoming calls from the mobile phones and will pause the music you are listening when receiving the calls. However, this feature will only come out later this year. So it is after they launch this product.

Well, I would say the Samsung YP-P2 and T10 selling point is their bluetooth feature..hmm....

Ok, when everybody talked about iPod, basically everybody knows it..and the latest people might get attracted to...i.e. Zune. Well, what attracted me the most was not the looks but the features an mp3 will offer.

What was missed to some is the Samsung YP-P2 and what is the specialty about it. The 3" flat screen, WQVGA resolution, gives obviously better outlooks. Other than that is the Bluetooth features built-in this mp3 player. Otherwise, the rest of the features are like the ones from other brand name :) well, will say about this more tomorrow... coz right now I need to go to bed :)

Nintendo DS : Metroid Prime : Hunters

This game has been known for quite awhile, mostly people knew it for other platforms, but now it has on Nintendo DS. What is being remembered is.....the favourite female bounty hunter, Samus Aran. So along came the rest of the bounty hunters that she has to compete with, in order to get to the octoliths.

Well, I won't go into more details regarding this hunter story.. what is interesting is that, controlling Samus as one of the strong points in this Nintendo DS game. You need to drag your stylus to do some things like changing weapons as an example.

Anyway, what made me talked about this game is that it is interesting to get into this game on Nintendo DS. It is a challenge really..with changing beam weapons, nice images...For those who have not tried the game on your Nintendo DS, try it out. You can play alone or with 3 other players/ through game sharing, and also can go online for the 4 players through Nintendo Wi-fi service. Mmm.....interesting isn't it?

The interesting thing about it is that, it is good for those who likes to play with 3 other players. Overall, it is fine with me when playing with some friends, but most of the time, playing alone is always great, however, just keep on a lookout to try the game if you haven't :)

Ontamarama

This is a fun game from Nintendo DS. er...I believe that this one might attract the girls more than the male gamers? I don't know.. well, the Japanese type of song and cartoon like images, this game is facing the opponent which is the Ontamaestros which will always go against you and use the captured Ontama to fulfil that.

Legend of Zelda

Apparently when everybody was talking about Microsoft's Halo 3 as one of the hot title of the season, Nintendo is coming up with their special classic of all times...many years popularity in their classic action-adventure game, The Legend of Zelda.

About 5 years ago, it was the Wind Waker and now comes the sequel of Legend of Zelda : The Phantom Hourglass. It has the same beautiful images and nice storyline and what makes it worthwhile for Nintendo DS is the usage of the touchscreen control on the actions in the game.
It is still the same elfin Link in the adventure where he was washed ashore on a strange land. Whatever he is going to do in this action adventure game, all you need is to just go on the touch screen. No more buttons to push so many times that your fingers numb! :)

Nintendo expect that this will be a popular game for the season, I suppose it would compete with Microsoft's Halo 3 since the last few days they were out in the market. However, Nintendo target is to a wider audience, probably for the practicality of playing the game that they expect to have more response from the people towards Zelda. So, maybe for some who have just started becoming gamers, may consider getting the Zelda collection that includes this new Zelda adventure game.

For those who are into Xbox 360, then the Project Gotham Racing 4 might be one on your list. One PC game that I am interested in is Enemy Territory : Quake Wars that comes out in the market. It is the human and alien war game which might be another nice interesting game to check out on!! Still..don't miss out Legend of Zelda while seeing the rest!! :)

Hmm....seems like a lot of games coming out, and I have to check out my pockets too! If really going on with this, my pocket will get thinner $$$. :) So, got to check out what's worthwhile to get.

Sony HD Camcorder CX7EK

I came to know about the recently introduced Sony HD Camcorder which is the new Handycam CX7EK (HDR-CX7EK) which is known to be the first Memory Stick capable handycam, and this camcorder records high-definition videos (naturally since it is known as HD Camcorder). This camcorder can catch still images up to 6.1 megapixels in the various Memory Stick media.

Hmm...even nicer to know that the various Memory Stick media it refers to are tthe Memory Stick PRO DUO, Memory Stick PRO-HG DUO, and also the Memory Stick Micro. What else can you ask for? This I find one good thing about it, that you can use more than one type of Memory Stick with this camcorder.

It is also nice to know that you can actually match the Memory Stick to playback videos directly from this Handycam to your VAIO notebook or (this is cool!) the PlayStation 3!!! This can be done without transferring the movies to a hard disk of the device. Nice isn't it?

A video that you take for 3 seconds can actually be played back in 12 seconds slow motion video which is quite good for some people. I find it useful for certain procedures in some working environment. This is even good when the audio recorded in the 5.1 Dolby Digital sensearond system. Aaah....sounds like cinema :)

Well, another thing that is nice about it is the weight. It is light...and small which is only about 6.9cm x 6.7cm x 13.1cm. Can just fit in the palm of your hand easily. It has low power consumption that it is able to shoot continuously for about 6 hours which I think is very reasonable. Furthermore, this handycam is similar to the latest Sony handycams like the AVCHD HDD Handycam SR8, SR7 and the SR5.

Hmm...well, it is retailed at RM4999. Do you think it is reasonable? :)

Nokia 6500 slide

Another thing that I stumbled upon was the Nokia 6500 slide phone which is not out in the market yet. I suppose it is another version from the 6500 classic phone. This model as how I see it appears to be in a nicer outlook than the classic one (at least in my own opinion).

It has a 3G video calling features in it, 3.2 megapixels camera with Carl Zeiss optics (I suppose this is its special feature?) and it is auto focus with 8x digital zoom. It comes with a powerful double LED flash as well. You can share the pictures or videos in there with others by using the TV-out. You can even connect to Flickr too!!

Design wise...it has the Nokia characteristics.... At 96.5mm x 46.5mm, size is favourable to me..and it is in a stainless steel casing, which is nice. It is with scratch resistant coating so you don't worry much about the scratches..

Rest of the features are mostly like what you get from other standard phones that have MP3, MPEG4, or radio...things like that are in this phone too.

This slide phone, sliding seems nice, keypads are like the standard nice to touch pads of Nokia. Interestingly enough that it also supports having the bluetooth display car kit, and compatible to bluetooth headset BH-900.

Hmm...lets see how it is when it comes out while I'm eyeing on the newly seen SE 850i... :)

Nokia 7500 Prism

I was told about Nokia mobiles recently and suddenly I thought I would look into the models that are around now and just see what's new since I have not been using Nokia mobiles for quite awhile now..

That was when I came across something that has not been in the MY market...yet?? It is the Nokia 7500 Prism...this one is rather unique, in shape...as per its name. The front and back is full of prism shapes on it.. however, looking at the keypad...it is not really user friendly. Still in prism shapes too, unique appearance and did caught my attention. Still, seems the keypads rather plasticky feeling that make you think of it like feeling "cheap"..know what I mean?? It is rather like slipping off when you press the keys.

It is thin and small, something that is nice about it. Easy to carry or put in your pocket. Not anything bulky. It also comes with a camera (phones these days will mostly have this feature anyway?) in also the shape of a prism and comes with a prism shape flash too! It is 2 megapixels camera...hm....and it is placed at the back of the phone along with the flash.

Well, there is actually nothing much of special features on this phone except for its appearance. It might be something for those who likes some different styles...otherwise it is just like any other mobiles you see around town.

Namco games DS

If you are a long time game player....do you remember about the classic Namco games like Mappy, Galaxian and Galaga?? You know those games I played on Playstation and now as much as it is like being forgotten, seems that it appeared as Namco Museum DS that is placed in DS cartridge that you can search for in the market.

On DS you can rotate the view to your preference, either playing it vertically by holding DS sideways or play it horizontally which is not really good I would say. Anyway, the games are just as how it was before, classic settings as the way it was. Pac-man still there too!!

Well, overall it has all the collection of the classic arcade games that you have seen during the earlier times when these games came out. if you are expecting more, you won't get anything from it. It is as I said earlier, just the way it is as before, but the only thing that you can count on is that it is portable, not like before that you just plug it in, and play it using the tv monitor to play it on.

You can still adjust to the modes of your preferences on this, like how you do on simple arcade games that you know. Different levels of difficulty to choose from and all that.

Anyway, if you are thinking about the old days playing the arcade games, you can try look around for this one. Sometimes you just want to have a change than the usual new games we have around now, that classics like this can sometimes be missed on and you just wished to play them once in awhile. :)

Blu-ray movies in MY

I was going around looking and it seems that not much have changed where blu-ray movies are concern here in MY. Not much of new movies that I can see. Still at Rm199 in price, the ones that I have seen available were The Casino Royale, Vertical Limit, XXX, Superman Returns, Black Hawk Down, Kungfu Hustle and one or two other movies. Rather a handful only but well, maybe it is alright for this time. Seems that not many people are looking for Blu-ray movies anyway. Preference for the DVD is still strong where MY market is concern.

Hmm...now that goes to what was known from last week. Spiderman 3 was suppose to be in the US market next week?? I noticed that the DVD of Spiderman 3 is already available here in MY!! Cool..... not really a high price to pay with those bloopers and other extra features you can get, by just paying extra RM20 from the ones without the extras. Even so you just need to pay at RM89.90 for the whole thing is considered a nice bargain.

Crysis

I was thinking about some new games to have in the PC, something that I like to do at weekends. I found this interesting game Crysis somewhere along the way. This one has a different scenario than the usual jungle tracks like some stages in Time Crisis 2. :) We have seen a lot of games that are having jungles, hills, camps or in ild buildings kind of situations where you need to shoot your enemies. In this Crysis, it is another variation of action game with another new level.

In Crysis, there is this stage that it is really most of the time in a dark environment, feels creepy and it is in what they call this unusual environment as the Ice level... where the world was actually frozen to ice and what you have to do is to look out into the alien mothership, and check out on the aliens' zero gravity Core level. You know... something like what you'd do or see in an alien movie kinds..

The hero seems to need to work around in the growing crystal walls and frigid temperature environment. The whole game is really like an alien movie with the technicals appeared to be such as well. You have to also adjust yourself for being in different "gravity" in a weightless scenario as it is like you are in the alien world in your own world..hmm...know what I mean?

Well, overall it is really interesting to try this one out. Try look for it if you want something different for your PC games. It sure is an intense game with robotic voice and suspense sound in the background, and going through the spiky crystal tunnels in the dark that really, really make you feel intense..after you have been in jungles with banana trees or at the army camp site kind of backgrounds. This Ice level you can really feel the intensity of the game... Well, I do. :) So for those of you who haven't seen it or tried it, can go try it.

Super Mario Bros

In the Nintendo Official Magazine, if you happen not to read the October issue that has just came out in UK, has Super Mario Bros covered in so much detail. There is the game guide for Nintendo DS players on the new Super Mario Bros, for how you want to pass through Bowser, some details about Mummy Pokey and how you want to tackle it, how you want to defeat Cheepskipper, telling about the character of Giant Goomba, Petey Piranha being one of the easier bosses to handle in the game, there is Monty Mole in a tank which is annoying when you come to this in the game, telling you how to tackle that, aobut Luckythunder that shoots lightning to you and some tips about Bowser & Bowser Jr.

Come in handy when trying to figure out to play the New Super Mari Bros on your Nintendo DS.

In the Nintendo magazine talked about Mario from the old times since 26 years ago up to now on everything about it being in many kinds of games which is actually more than 200 games where Mario appeared.

If you are really into Super Mario Bros and the likes of him, can grab the Nintendo Official magazine when you see it. Interesting to read about its development and progress to what it is now, and of course with all the game guides and everything about it on Nintendo DS and it is a great Collector's Edition. Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Now they are having the Tokyo Game Show 2007 and one of those that they have placed for a demo is the Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for the Nintendo DS. Hmm.....interesting.

This game is just like how it is as you see it in Game Boy Advance. So if you are a fan of this Final fantasy, on Nintendo DS it retains that charateristics in Game Boy Advance version. They showed this game in that show, and was said to be released in Japan on October 25,2007 while US they have no confirm dates yet. Now, when is this coming to MY for our very own Nintendo DS gamers?

Apparently this game has catchy tunes in it, which would make it interesting while playing. Let see how the game is like when Luso (the hero) goes around travelling with his companions like how we use to see in the FF game. It will be great to get the hands on it when it comes to MY shores... Keep watch!

Blu-Ray movies : what's coming up soon?

Now there are quite a number of Blu-Ray movies out there...and for MY market, it is still rather expensive as compared to the price you can get in SG. However, it doesn;t matter...if you want it, you can get it...it you don't, you go for other stuff. Like me, I still buy DVDs :)

Hmm...something good to look out for.

Well, these are actually the ones releasing in North America while in Japan they are releasing quite a lot of other movies like Pirates of Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl, and Dead Man's Chest, The Guardian.

Paramount is coming up with MI:III. Interestingly enough that Ponycanyon is going to come out with AIR... Hmm.....I wonder how many discs that will be? Just one?? Many episodes....

Bluetooth headset

I was going around to replace my bluetooth headset and saw some new looks of bluetooth headsets around. I didn't look much to some, but was only thinking about the Plantronics Voyager 855 that I stumbled upon...

This bluetooth headset is consists of a headset with a detachable stereo cable, more lightweight and I think a better sound quality as compared to the Jabra BT8010. The good feature that comes with this bluetooth headset is that you can opt for the mono or stereo by just adding a secondary earpiece to convert it.

There is the sliding boom mic which I find that it rather gives a loose fit kind of feeling and it has very tiny controls on the side which is rather difficult for large fingers I would say?

However, it has the basic things you need on a headset actually..the usual answering and ending a call, there's the mute feature, or rejecting calls, voice-dial support and can also do the last number redial as well. Other then that, when comes to listening to music, you can control the music from the headset too. The sound quality from music or even from phone calls are good, it has a good clarity and callers have no problems to hear you as well. The pairing was good too.

There is also the indicator for the battery life so it is not difficult to know if you need to charge it soon or not. Talk time is 7 hours and listening to music for 6 hours is good. Standby time about almost a week.

Oh, and the incoming calls alert is good even when you listening to music. You actually can continue with the music where you left off when you answer the phone calls. Something good about it really.

Anyway, just saying about it.....but it won't be on top of my list. The sliding boom mic that I don't have a great preference on, the loose fit for me when comes to securing it. I still will stick to my Akono HBH-608 for now :)

iPhone - will it come to Malaysia?

Now that iPhone has been planned to be in the UK market by early November, I wonder if next year it really does arrives on MY shore? In UK it will be using the O2 network and on only 8GB version. They won't be having the 4GB version. It gets me wondering even more....what happens when it reaches here in MY?? However, it won't come as a 3G set for this year though. So I suppose the Britons will wait patiently for next year for the chance of the 3G set comes out.

However, don't think it would be so bad since it is coming with EDGE. Well, for those who were really eyeing on iPhone there, they will get to buy it soon when it comes out in the market in November. I wonder if it will be in MY and if there are some of you out there who do wait for this model to come here??

Olympus Evolt E-410 SLR Camera

When everytime I like to look at Canon and Nikon cameras, I thought of seeing something different. Olympus. So I saw this Olympus Evolt E-410 SLR camera which is one of those Olympus camera products out in the market.

This one has 10 megapixels which has what they call the Live-MOS imaging sensor and comes with True Pic III Image processor. So when you take a shot of the big picture..you know what you are looking at. To see a good image that you have captured and happy with it! They claim to have a spotless reputation where it seems that it has a proven track record of anti-dust system. I don't know if that really works in Malaysia? However, it says that you'll get spotless, pixel- perfect pictures every time. Well, I will need to try that out on variable situations to know if that is true.

There is a wide selection of lenses to choose from, but then again, if you are an amateur photographer, what is your expectation? How often you want to use such cameras with such lenses that you can choose? For me, I would get two different lenses, having in mind of where I will capture photos often, or the places that I am most likely to be in. You know, some people get those aquatic cameras which I don't think I'd buy as I don't think I would go snapping photos of corals if I do go scuba! However, this one has the underwater modes to choose from!

Anyway, this camera has an option on the memory slot too. It has two memory slots that hold Compact Flash Type I and Type II, Microdrive and xD picture cards. You can use the dual slot design to actually transfer images you want to save from one card to another! Pretty handy in some situations really. It will manage the memory better that way, I would say.

The LCD monitor is 230,000 pixels..so it is surely a nice resolution you can see there, and more interesting when it is at almost 180 degree angle, you can still see how the image looks like and under the bright sunlight, it also doesn't get any lesser clarity when you want to take a look at the images. Well, Olympus has a lot of improvement on that part as I can see, remembering from the earlier times when I look at Olympus digital cameras.

Generally, it is worth to try out on, when you feel like taking a change of brands other than those popular Canon and Nikon ranges. Pretty handy, lightweight and got a lot of features enough for an amateur photographer. Hmm..as for the pros, well....we just have to ask them to try and see what they like from it eh? (by the way, there are 4 other models a part from this E-410 for SLR cameras, but I haven't tried or testing on them yet to know how it is)

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 7659

Ok, so much talked about the Dell notebooks or some called laptops...I was recently given the Lenovo T61 to work with.. and so this notebook is something rather "unfamiliar" to me since I have not used this model before.
Processor is Intel Cor 2 Duo, with 1 GB DDR II SDRAM, come with Windows Vista.
Well...with all the specs that you can check out on, when I use this notebook, what reminds me of the whole appearance is on the first notebook I got. The Hewlett Packard notebook, er...I can't remember the model number. That one was like 13 years ago laptop which obviously now never existed anymore. As I said, it reminds me of the HP notebook because of the appearance of this Lenovo notebook. Squarish edge, unlike the Acer Aspire 3620 I use frequently which is roundish edge.

Anyway, shape wise is a minor thing. What we expect on a notebook is the functionality and practicality of itself. First, this notebook is like every other models of the Lenovo series with finger print passwords option. I don't opt for this one just like many other users who have that on their notebooks. The thoughts about, what happen if my finger got a cut, and the notebook won't recognise my finger print?? Hmmm...don't think I'd risk that. So I don't opt for a finger print reading on my notebook and have it use passwords instead. I think my brain is still very useful when comes to this!! :)

There was the second time I turned on my notebook, what happen? It hanged.... geez...so much so for an expensive notebook. However, probably it was a fault of mine?? Anyway, that was the only time I got the notebook hanged, which I don't know what was the reason. I didn't download much stuff at that time and most are from the workplace which unlikely viral cause.

Ok, not to worry on that, but this Lenovo T61, have slightly weighty keypads compared to my Acer Aspire 3620. Firm keyboards and overall, just like any other keyboards in a notebook. It has the ThinkVantage button in blue on the top left side, that I'd say a function that I don't think I'd use? However, it is good for some who wants to look for a shortcut of certain functions help.

Battery life is good. It has a good lifespan which is useful especially when this is for business purposes. ThinkPad T61 is meant for business anyway, and useful for it. No worries, it is practical for use when you have it for your work. There are few types of batteries you can choose from athought it does come with its standard size battery. Hmm...now I forgot how long it lasted? geez..not a good thing to tell. haha... but I think it was about 4 hours straight when using the full battery. Good eh? I would say it is good, long enough to use while waiting for a power line! Lots of things can be done on it in 4 hours.

Its DVD multirecorder is easy to use, nothing much of an extraordinary. Windows Vista on it, no problem. I even had it downgraded to Windows XP (mind you, upgrades is easier than downgrades!) but it works well with Windows XP too. No fuss.

Sound volume is clear though I need to get into that more detail later on. Haven't really tried on the sound that much yet, which I think the Acer Aspire sounds better in that sense? I have to check it out again later.

Well....that's the general approach I have on the Lenovo T61. Will get into a more detailed description of my usage on it soon ya!!

There are 5 colours to choose from where this iPod Nano is concern. This iPod is focussing more on videos, while the iPod Touch focussing more on the music part. Anyway, this iPod nano enables you to watch up to 5 hours of TV shows and 24 hours of music on a single charge. Hmm..pretty impressive eh?

Apparently this iPod nano of the third generation gives a really better impression. It gives a good clear video playback, very bright and even better since the battery life is longer than I thought. So I know I get a better bet on this 3rd generation iPod nano.

It has advanced user interface, which I think you might like, I would say it is an improvement on the iPod nano. Not to mention it didn't forget the built-in games for more entertainment!!! Something that obviously will tickle my fancy!!! :)

The shape has changed than the previous one and as I have said...you have 5 colour options to choose from. However, I would say there is this lacking of video output for something that focus on videos??

It has even a smaller scroll wheel which...I think for larger fingers may not really feel comfy with it. However, it seems tolerable still where I am concern. Another setback is that the audio is not really up to what I expect it would be, sonce watching videos is really need a good relation with a good audio that comes with it, otherwise...might as well we watch a silent movie?

Overall, it is still not a bad iPod nano. A 3rd generation, it has improved a lot and watching videos, you won't feel disappointed with it I would say. Just some minor setbacks but then again, I would rate it as better and not something below a good mark.

iPod Touch

I was being told about the new Apple iPod. Hmm...and I suppose with all the touch screen topics being talked about in town, comes the talk about HTC Touch, and some talking about the iPhone, now comes the iPod Touch.

In US, apart from the iPod Shuffle at 1GB and iPod Nano at 4GB and 8GB, iPod classic at 80GB and 160GB...but this iPod Touch comes in 8GB and 16GB. Hmm..what more can you ask for in this iPod Touch?

It has a multi-touch interface, with a 3.5" widescreen display, where you can watch a nice video on it, there is the Wi-Fi web browsing feature for you to browse the web. They claimed that it is the first Wi-Fi iPod. Of course you also can download songs from iTunes into this gadget. You can review the songs, see what's hot or Top Ten on it, purchase and download songs from iTunes. There is the feature what is called as Starbucks Music too!! Will that be functional here in MY too?? Hmm......I don't think so though because this is only launching in US and still going with that process with some other cities in the US. So, don't think that will apply here in MY.

The songs or albums can be browsed through by turning the iPod 90 degrees. Then you touch the album cover to see the back of the album for the song list. Just like when you go to a music store. Hmm...now I really wonder if that will work in MY or not if that is already hits our stores?

Even for videos, you can watch from its widescreen. Just turn the iPod 90 degrees for it. Your choice. Not to mention you can store your photos in it as well, and turn it as you wanted to view the photos. Whether by the widescreen or just the normal view. You can do a slideshow of the photos to view as well. Everything is just by touching the screen. You can also watch Youtube on it too!

Well....US price is at $299. Hmm......

Games Convention 2007

Hmmm...recently I heard this weekend there will be the Games Convention held in Singapore.. However, what I do know is that the Games Convention was held in Leipzig, Germany on August 22, 2007.

There was a show and demonstrations on Super Mario Galaxy which will be released in Europe on 16 November. There were lots of demonstrations for Wii games, so for those Wii lovers will definitely enjoyed the convention. There were clips shown on Pokemon Battle Revolution, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption( something that is a hot game in Malaysia for now!!) and Legend of Zelda:Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS.

The convention that Nintendo had was focusing more on physical and mental fitness. So you can imagine the games that need lots of memory skills as well :) There was the guided press tour in the convention that on the last part was the Wii Fit. Wii Fit uses something that is called Balance Board (not a confirmed name yet) and this thing senses the motion of the person standing on top of it. Those movements are then translated into the on-screen actions. Well, that is one game to try on soon!!! :)

Coming up Movie - The Brave One

Well...I have always liked watching Jodie Foster when she was still a kid, acting in the Bugsy Malone movie...with splurge gun and musical one too. Didn't expect that I would watch her act in movies when she is an adult..well...I grew up watching her act.

With various movies that I have watched, and later on seems the impact of her movies get lesser where I am concern, now I am wondering how this new movie going to be?

The Brave One...
It is a fantasy of vengeful plot. It is a character study and action at the same time. Ahah!! Action movie..now that is something that I like. This movie seems to be directed by Neil Jordan, and Jodie Foster acted as a character named Erica.
Looking at it, my impression was that this movie is something like a combination of Panic Room movie, and Flightplan.

She is even at this time filming a new movie for 2008 called Nim's Island and a pre-production film titled Sugarland.!!!!

Let's see what happens when it does show in the cinema here in Malaysia!!!

HTC Touch

Some friends talked about this HTC Touch for awhile now, and yesterday I went to look at it at the gadgets stands.

Ok, touch screens seems to be something happening lately, with the Lifebook, the iPhone and there is this HTC Touch. What makes it different than others is that it is the first Windows-based phone that functions with your fingers than your stylus on the palmtop. Making it more interesting that it has multi-touch screen so you can use more than one finger to work on the screen.

The thing is it has Windows Mobile 6 device on it. However, since that feature is more for a stylus actually, so you'll need the stylus more than your finger to type unless I think if you have fingers as thin as the stylus! It is rather troublesome to type with your fingers on the small keys...Well, you can use your thumb to slide up the screen and you'll find the TouchFLO interface, where it will be in the Windows Mobile application. You can also go on the entertainment, look at contacts, things like that.

Camera features just like the usual, and you can adjust it, zoom it, but it has a fixed focus. Nothing so special about the camera. EDGE and GPRS also has nothing much than the usual.

One thing that is lacking. The predictive dialling. On a keyboard or a keypad, when you type a name or a number it will come out with a list of possibilities, the ones that might match what we are looking for while on this HTC Touch, you have to pres the call button and switch to contacts first. So that is extra button to press.

Well, everything else is just like other phones but as said, the only plus point it has is the Windows Mobile 6 device, using the touch screen where the buttons are actually thumb friendly so you can use your thumb to move around getting to what you want. You can use your thumb to get to the Audio Manager, launching programs or handling your contacts on the 3D cube by sliding your thumb on it and no need to use a stylus for it.

For those who are so interested in the iPhone, then maybe you can get this HTC Touch as an alternative, with a difference of having the Windows Mobile 6 for you to be happy with :)

Another Fujitsu Lifebook

I was going around when I have the little bit of time, and....I stumbled upon this Fujitsu Lifebook. Just like the one that I have talked about before but...this one is not that.. it is Lifebook U1010.

Some tech lover might get so interested to know more about this one, some professionals might find this handy..who knows? All comes back to your own preferences.

This Lifebook U1010 is really a compact gadget. It is as the Fujitsu concept I suppose..to be "thin and lightweight" and so this Lifebook only weigh just about little over 500 gram! Well, it comes with ultra slim 0.2mm aluminium plated Qwerty keyboard that doesn't add to its weight.

Because of the convertible swivel form, this ultra mobile PC gives the flexibility of using the Lifebook as how you want to use it, whether you want to use it as a handheld, tablet or a notebookPC. It is really small!!! Only that it is bigger than a mobile phone but not so much bigger than a palm top, measuring at 171mm(W) x 133mm(D) x 26.5-32.0mm (H). Hard disk..goes at 40GB with memory of 1GB DDR2 400MHz.

It has a Palm Resistance touch screen so you can use your fingers other than a stylus and a Glide Point pointing device. It also has the finger print sensor for some security measures that you don't need your password for it. Hmm...is that good or bad? :) I was thinking that if the keyboard is so small, everything will surely be compacted and packed, and..the stylus or fingers used to move around, how accurate can it be to go for what you want? Seems that some functions on a usual keyboard that you just need to press more than one button!! Hmm..that sounds like troublesome.. for a usual notebook sometimes I already find pressing numbers and some need to use Shift + whatever a little bit of a hassle, more now that a Lifebook that gets smaller might have lesser keyboard buttons.

It seems the battery life is also being optimised at the same time has lower power consumption! Fujitsu fulfills this by running it on Intel's latest Ultra Mobile Platform 2007 by installing it with Thermal Design Power which is about 80% lower than Intel's current Ultra Low Voltage CPU. Whatever it is, longer battery life is something a busy professional or a music lover would like to hear, right?

There is one thing...the resolution seems rather high in relation to its widescreen format LCD monitor but I suppose that shouldn't be a problem much, should it? Oh, and the LCD monitor screen size is about 5.6" in 1024 x 600 megapixels.

Well...if you think you want to have a small notebook which is slightly larger than a palmtop, go and take a look at it when you see it and try out the features. It should be around RM5k for this unit... hmm....nice to look at, but...it is not to my liking in some ways, probably I don't really like a thing too small for my rough lady's fingers. :)

Casio Exilim EX-Z77 and EX-S880 Digital Camera

I was reading the papers and went around walking in the city while waiting for a long time friend, and stumbled upon a brand that I have not been thinking about for quite awhile, and that is Casio.. This time I stumbled upon the Casio digital camera.

There are the two models that are newly in the market, the EX-Z77 and the EX-s880. What is the marketing or sales power for this camera when competing with other digital camera will be for those who likes videos and been online so much!! So a lot of you might now know, these models have the selling point by the You Tube optimized video capture mode.

It is just not that as a feature, both models also have the MPEG-4 H.264 video codec used for recording video. You can record video for about reaching 19minutes of 640x480 video with audio on a 1GB SD card. Or, you can also go for about 1 hour 10 minutes high quality video but on a 4GB card since both models support the SDHC card.

When talk about cameras then, we also think about the zooming stuff right? These models both have 3 times optical zoom. A difference of both cameras are that the EX-Z77 has 7 megapixels sensor while the EX-S880 has 8 megapixels sensor.

Talk about the You Tube again, Casio did actually had a talk with the You Tube people, and so that is how the You Tube Capture Mode came about.

The EX-Z77 comes in black, blue, pink and silver while the EX-S880 have red and black colours. These models are said to only come out in the US in August, I suppose it must have launched by now??? Anyway, as seen in the sources collected, these models are also already in Malaysia.

Other features..For the EX-S880 will be the blur reduction technologies. Somehow they do something about the shutter speed at some point and it seems that it has the blur reduction function to ensure clarity of images. It uses a high shutter speeds and high sensitivity settings to have the Anti Shake and the blur reduction features to function. It also has 2.8" bright wide LCD screen display.

Whereas the EX-Z77 comes with 2.6" LCD screen display, and as said, lesser megapixels.. :)

Hmmm...worth a try on it ;)

Blu-Ray and HD-DVD

Well..as you know that the last few days has been so much talked about the HD DVD exclusivity. Microsoft, Sony and some other large corporations have not agreed upon on the standard format of the new generation DVD. What happens is we the consumers are in trouble.. because they come up with two separate and incompatible formats. Remember those days when we have Betamax? At first Betamax was great to have, then VHS came about and Betamax just died off. We got the Betamax player, and as Betamax tapes are getting scarce, no choice...my dad had to go and buy the VHS player after that (this was what some Americans have talked about, regarding this topic too) ... Are we going into that phase soon with DVD now that Blu-Ray is here??

Problem is if the battle between Blu-Ray and HD DVD still on, the arguments about exclusivity, more that Michael Bay was pissed with Dreamworks on it as you all have heard about, then... consumers will just wait than buy and the price will still remain high.. whereas for those who proceed with buying whichever that they like and suddenly that one becoming the losing one, the equipment that they have bought become obsolete and they will lose a lot. So how now?
As said, with this war of differences and preferences, of formats and all that between Blu-Ray and HD DVD...we are going to be in a "limbo" !! :)

Interestingly, PC World went to interview Alan Bell, the executive vice president and chief technology officer for Paramount pictures, about their decision why they choose to drop the Blu-Ray. It seems that to them the HD DVD has a much better mandatory sets of specifications that will benefit consumers in long term basis. I suppose that might be logical where MY is concern? Since not everyone will go for Blu-Ray especially if the price is maintained at the present one.
Oh, and they did say about HD DVD being cheaper production with lesser flaws. Hmm...now that one caught my attention. Lesser flaws?? mmm... that is actually something that I am more interested than the war itself :)

I'm sure this has been the news we are going to read for awhile now...let's see what happens next?

Fujitsu Lifebook N6460

When often I have been talking about many known products such as Sony, seems that some other brands that I have seen has been sort of forgotten. haha... well, it is just about something I stumbled upon recently, and it was the Fujitsu notebook.

Lifebook N6460, is a later model that comes out in the N series, I would say just similar to the N6420 that they have now here in Malaysia, and it is a mobile computing companion, which is a notebook that introduced the full power of home entertainment.

With the 17-inch WXGA+TFT display screen, it presents a superfine quality of 370nits brightness, 600:1 contrast ratio and 72% of clour gamut. Not bad eh? So you have a good view on this diplay. The widescreen display also is driven by the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 graphic chip with 512MB Hyper Memory that provides visually nice images on this Lifebook N6460. You also have an option of getting the 1GB turbo memory. Well, if one of the best feature that they want to bring up on this model is life entertainment, I am sure that these are some of the factors that they need to have on this notebook anyway right? There is something more...an option of having the Blu-Ray drive!! For N6460, it is the first Lifebook series that has Blu-Ray capability and it has intergrated with advanced display as well as image-optimising technologies.

With the Visual Optimiser it is a nice tool that enables you to toggle between the mode of work and your entertainment just with a single touch, where you do this concurrently, it will be so easy. Not hard to enhance your image quality and the brightness while watching your movie on it, or just viewing your photo collections. All just by simply increasing the brightness of the LCD screen with the Visual Optmiser button. Talk about photo collection, if you think about a built-in camera, it doesn't have it.

Staying connected is also easy with the built-in WLAN 11AGN, 1000/100/10 Mbps, LAN and 56kbps modem, so no problem with the connectivity anytime and anywhere you like. There is an additional expansion and connectivity made for it, with the PCMCIA Card slot, 5x USB 2.0 ports, mini D-SUB 15-pin VGA out, S-video out, HDMI-Video out, IEEE 1394 and an SD/MS/MS Pro memory card slot... so what else you want on it? It is what they said, it is a great powerhouse!

What I like on this Lifebook is the keypad. Like no ordinary notebook this Lifebook has the 10-key numeric keypad setting on it, other than the something-different keypad for other features like that Visual Optimiser one touch button thingy.It is something that I like about when most other notebook don't have. Some may think it is not really necessary, but I do like to have the 10-key numeric keypad just like the desktop computer. Especially when I have to deal with numbers in some things I do, I hate it when I have to go on the notebook keypads without that setting! This notebook has fingerprint scanner and a remote control too!!

Well, go look around and find out about this Fujitsu Lifebook and see if you like it. Moreso, if you are a movie buff like me, it may be on your list of the choice of notebook you want to buy especially if you are a gamer and Blu-ray craze as well!!

About Limewire being sued?

There was this news that came about some years back if some of you remember, especially for those who loves music and download them online..and when it is Free!!

Now the news go to the direction of that Limewire still having their legal dispute with RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), that even though they do not cave in to the sued by RIAA, it seems that Limewire might begin another system that they said it would begin to do approved downloads for sale, but not like what was experienced by the Google video downloader faced, that is...paid then the paid content is now no longer be played after awhile. It seems that you won't see that happens if it is in Limewire, one of the reasons waa that it seems to represent small/minor independent label artists rather than the major ones. The files will be in mp3 version though.

I wonder if Limewire will end up like the fate of Napster? Maybe not....since Napster changed to as how it is, it does look like the Napster that we once know is "dead" in that sense, while Limewire is still as how it is today for quite awhile. I suppose there is nothing to worry about for Limewire users for now at least, because they are still offering the same free version of Limewire application. They also claimed to RIAA that they are only offering their software and what consumers do with it is not their business. Hmm...good reason!!! :)

Don't know what will happen to Limewire after this legal dispute is over (wonder when?), but while it is still as how it is, maybe just make use of it while we can, and...probably with their new system that they are going to offer soon if at all they do, maybe it will get better! I'm sure they are figuring out and to make sure that they don't end up like Napster did?

Nintendo DS - Ratatouille

Hmm...now that the movie is coming out on 16th August, the game on Nintendo DS also is out in the market. Usually games that comes from movie is err....kinda lousy. :) However, this game is kinda cute! hah! well...I won't put it that way but seems that this game is not as how expected.

However, when you play this one, it is actually more to kids game. I don't see it as an adult game, but well...some adults love to play kids game. So, can consider this one!! hehe.. It is simply to say that it is easy to play, simplified that kids can play.

It starts off with player becoming Remy the rat, going from the grandma house for the start level, searching just like what a rat would do and further on go into the sewer. Well, roughly something like what you would expect a rat would be, and just like the movie, he ended up in the restaurant where he becomes the chef. Simple images as you can see, and the game goes on.

Each platform level have icons, scattered everywhere that you pick for and get points for it. Well, generally the way to play this game is to just pick some set of things and collect the icons, then find the exit and out you go!!

It is a cute game though as I said more for kids since the challenge is well....less challenging in some ways because you can easily get the power up. Not much of things that can really kill the rat, maybe get poisoning from a stale cheese types but you can recover easily.

In short, as I said...it is probably enjoyable for younger kids, but not for the teenagers and us the adults if we are looking for challenging games. This is a light game for adults..sort of like playing to past your time?

However, it is a cute irresistable game actually. Go on, try it on your Nintendo DS when you can get your hands on it!

Transformers : Autobots (DS)

Ok, the cinema is still showing Transformer movie and so does the game in the market. For consoles and handhelds like Nintendo DS. Looking at how it is with console games, not really superb, so one can expect that it won't be great on handheld like PSP and DS either. Hm..well...not really.

As much as you have to stay away from buying Fantastic Four : Rise of The Silver Surfer game for Nintendo DS coz it sucks, Transformers :Autobots is sooo much better than that. PSP version of it doesn't seem to be looking great, so on Nintendo DS, I thought it could be much worse! Hmm....when looking at it, I was wrong...

Interesting that you should know, you just have to decide just like how the Transformers contests usually are... To choose whether you want to be the Autobots or you are on the Decepticon's side. In this Nintendo DS, it gives a different storyline for both sides. So you decide, which one you want to be. The good side or just the baddie.

Whichever team you are in, you won't be just focussing on being one character like Optimus Prime only, or just Bumblebee...you won't. You are just into it that you have to control just about everyone in that team, one to the other, all for the mission of looking for that AllSpark. Sounds pretty standard and expected in that sense...but, it is a game afterall and it doesn't really go like the movies do. A variant for the Nintendo DS, you have a lot of alternate modes to choose from for the robots to change form.

Each level is just for you to explore yourself, like you are being thrown into the sea and you swim to where you think you should go kind of thing. The 3D graphics looks good too. As it is, this game is just like the movie concept, lots of fightings that you should be expecting obviously.

So when you choose either team, you also will notice that Decepticon will make you go up the level faster than you are when you are the Autobots. One good reason is that Autobots don't benefit from the human casualties while Decepticons can gain in many ways, afterall they are the baddies.

Challenging in the way while you are confronting the opposite team and moreso when you can't block an attack but to face it.
Overall, it is fun to play with.it is a good one for Nintendo DS whereas for Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer, if you are considering of buying..er...maybe you should just stay away from it!! Think of just settling for Pokemon instead. hehehe...

Nintendo DS Games

One of those things that made me interested in Nintendo DS is that I have been playing Prince of Persia when the earlier times I was being introduced to computers. Well, not exactly... The earlier one was Space Invaders that I played when the computers were not exactly coloured.. Space Invaders was only black background and green aliens and green space ship!

Later on came a better version of computers and there I was, started playing Prince of Persia, that took me one hour to finish the whole game until he saved the princess. Since then, I never seen any Prince of Persia until not long after when it came out the 2nd series... then..I lost track of games for awhile!!

So, comes to the part I was looking for Prince of Persia everywhere and couldn't find a nice one to play until I stumbled upon Nintendo DS Battles of Prince Of Persia. Now that is something!! Though almost all games consoles have about the same games, some people do have their favourites in which console right? Okay, here is actually a "stale" story about this game since it is actually has been on the market for so long but this is just my story... hehe..

I settled with Nintendo DS Battles of Prince of Persia. There is Age of Empire to add on the list of games as well as Cars! Well, the girlie side of me thought about some other games like Hamsterz too! However, I just want to talk about Prince of Persia.

Ok, back to Battles of Prince of Persia. It is a combination of the Sands of Time series and Warrior Within, or I would say a story between the two phases. Playing wise, seems ok. Graphics not too bad comparing to what is seen on PSP. However, I began to get tired about this game because for a handheld game, this game is really tiring! This is because of the attributes that are hard to take out on a handheld strategy game. More so that it is a 24 missions that you need to go through, rather lengthy!!!

Especially when there are many games out there, to have a lengthy game like this, hmm.... not really a good idea although I love to play Prince of Persia games. Hey, there is a limit to excitement and comes the boredom!! There is a lot to keep track on, so it does get tiring. The usual thing about this game is that, if you are sloppy, the computer is surely going to get at you and take advantage of your errors, and so...there you go...you got the bullying from it that it will just attack you. haha..

The battlefield and icons used for each of the units are all pretty basic-looking, if you have something out of PSP or PS2...you'll see this one as a lesser impression one. hmm...The sound effects in the game are pretty ordinary and thin, as well. As a DS game it just leaves a lot to be desired. What saves the overall presentation or outlook will be the game's pretty good use of the touch screen for giving orders in battle and managing the battlefield. I think it has better control for left-handed people, though for me it is not so much of a problem as most things both of my hands just work equally :)

The new Apple-iMac

When at first looking at the sleek, sophisticated look of the Sony computer I was already impressed with the appearance and how it doesn't take much space on the desk. Now comes the new thing from Apple i.e the new Apple iMac. This is another thin design, and it comes in two screen sizes which are the 20 and the 24 inch widescreens. The monitor with that flat screen does looks cool.

Lots to talk about on this iMac computer. The resolutions for 20 inch are 1680 by 1050 pixels whereas the 24 inch having 1920 by 1200 pixels. It comes in a 2.0 GHz or 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, or a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor. It has 4MB shared L2 cache at full processor speed and 800 MHz system bus. 1GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 memory. It is also have two SO-DIMM slots support for up to 4GB. Hmm...neat..

The hard drive, for 20 inch screen with 2.0GHz processor it has 250GB Serial ATA 7200-rpm hard drive but you also have the optional of 320GB or 500GB Serial ATA 7200-rpm hard drive.
While the 20 Inch screen with 2.4 GHz processor has 320GB with optional upgrade of 500GB to 750GB. As for the 24 inch screen, 320 GB with the similar optional upgrade like the 20 inch 2.4 GHZ processor. Generally the hard drive can go up to 1TB of storage!!!!

This computer has a built-in wireless, for your wireless networking and bluetooth. If you have bluetooth enabled mobile phone or PDA..no worry about using it with this iMac. You can sync it with the iSync and keep everything from calendars and your contacts up-to-date. There is also no cables tangling around. Basically it has everything installed in this slim looking computer. It seems to work like a wonder. It has the iSight camera, so no worry on that as well! It has advanced graphics from ATI to complement that, so you'll enjoy watching the videos and hey, not to mention you can go on the iTunes with no problem too.

US market is about $1199 so how much will that be in MY market? Check it out and let me know if it is really interesting to own one. Hmm..I am actually interested to place one on my desk!! :)

Now...I wonder...is it not good enough to just go for dive in the sea without thinking of music? I suppose there are people who don't like to just be underwater unless it is with some music!

So there is this mp3 player that comes out from Japan's Century. If you think about swimming and playing your mp3 player and how to do it, you'll probably think about wrapping your mp3 player with a silicone tube that can securely hold it using cable-ties. Is that what you think? Well, Century thought about it and come up with Dolphin the waterproof mp3 player. The player carries an IPX7 Ingress protection rating which means it really is waterproof (not just splash-proof!!) up to a depth of about 1 meter. I suppose that will be good enough for your scuba? Think twice about taking them scuba diving, for the sake of your ears, you’ll be fine with just snorkelling with it. hehehe...

This Dolphin measuring about 60 x 21 x 21mm, weighing about 25gr comes in a pack of 1GB flash and 2GB sizes, USB 2.0 and have a support for mp3 and WMA playback in an 8-hour battery life. It has the waterproof headphones included. The flange keeps water out of your ear and the cable is only long enough to stretch from the side of your head to your ears. However, the Dolphin comes with a few different water tight earplugs and various lengths of cable to be used along with the armband, if you think you look so ridiculous without them!! Just keep it on a safety level for your underwater requirement!! This player seems to be a little bit better than the waterproof iPod shuffle though.

It’s designed to be strapped to the side of a pair of goggles. The included headphones screw down into the unit, putting pressure on a small washer, making the connection watertight.

However, with such a good idea of this gadget to be used, there is the downside... The headphone is actually have awful sound (something that is vital for mp3 players right?) and with a 2.55mm plug (not 3.5mm!!) you can actually get a converter for it BUT....don't go into the water again when you do that. Hmm...doesn't that defeat the original purpose? However, it is easy to drag and drop files to and from the Dolphin so, this obviously a good thing. You don't have to see Media Manager pop on your face when you do it.

Price? In US market is about $160 so what do you think the price in MY will be if at all it comes to MY? It's good that it won't be as expensive as waterproof iPod shuffle, so you can still consider this one in your list if you are looking for one before you go to the beach again! Err...you think this can be that popular?? hmm....

Nike Zoom

I was looking around at games shop, Wii, PS3 and all that...when I suddenly bumped into something that fill up my thoughts.. Nike Shoes...

Many years back, it was so hard to get a great pair of Nike shoes when it was first known in the country. By chance, a relative was going out of the country, and so...manage to bring back a nice pair of Nike shoes when he came back.

Anyway, there is this new launching nice looking Nike shoes with their own purpose and cool fashion. First is Basketball Nike Zoom BB.Double lasted design to keep your feet firm to the ground..obviously something suitable for the basketball lovers who play the games of course. It has maximum traction herringbone pattern outsole, circular pivot point and with nice colour combination too.

2. Running Nike Zoom RS+
Seem to appear in two colours, blue and red and in their different shades in itself. Really cool look. A snug heel fit. Nike Bareflex outsole, and comfy to wear though I don't really like the look of the front part of the blue coloured one... you know the holes that looks like pimpled shoes.. :)

3. Training Nike Zoom TR
This one is designed for those who loves to go to the gym and do your workouts. This one looks ok, with a different design. Lighter, leaner and lower to the ground type. Rather a low profile design but ensure increase in durability since this one is for workout people .

4. Soccer Nike Zoom FS
This one is of course for the football lovers who plays the game! Functioning to give you an easy way for a quick movement...just like what you need in playing football. However, again when comes to looks...I don't really like the look on this pair of shoes. The colour combination to me is awful. I don't like it. Red, blue and brown??? Is that a nice combination? Well, maybe for some, but not for me...

5. Tennis Nike Zoom TI
This Nike shoes use for tennis, is something that I like where the design is concern. White in colour with a combination of light blue bottom and black Nike symbol on the side. It has extra durable rubber on the outersole.. this one looks and feel fine to me. Not that I play tennis, but seems confortable inside.

6. Dance Nike Zoom MC leather
This one that I saw was purple with a combination of orangy colour for the outersole and the Nike symbol. Suitable for dancing as claimed...but I don't know if it is. Didn't try it on for dnacing yet...but it does look good for the dance floor.

Aha!!! Now Sony is coming out with the slimmer PSP, which will compete with the Nintendo DS. It is a slimmed-down version which will be launched in September this year in Japan which some said on September 20?? Selling price is at about Rm500 though no official price being announced yet.. Cool eh?

I'm waiting to see how it is.... apart from still watching closely on PS3 :)

Xbox360 warranty service

Well, if any of you Malaysians have the Xbox360 and have sent for service, what is your experience like?
Seems that the warranty that is valid for all over the world has its shortcomings too. In the US itself, that the gamers who sent their consoles apparenly had to wait a really really long time to get them back when they were actually promised that the item will be returned in 10 days after repair.
Hmm...what do you think of that? Does that imply there are so many Xbox360 consoles have defects or major faulty device to be fixed? Or is that due to something else like shipments delay?
Sounds like it is more towards a lot of consoles being sent back to Microsoft because of the hardware failure. :)
How many Malaysians who bought the Xbox360 have problems with their hardware? Seems that Microsoft is having a problem with their Xbox360 and made a lot of their customers unhappy. They need to get that fixed fast!!

About game console modding...

There was this talk about modding of game consoles like Xbox360 for quite awhile (not to mention the rest)...and so obviously the company that produces it is not happy..

When I think about it, and see what gamers said....don't you think that it is actually something for the company to think about..as in WHY? Customers bought what they want, and I don't think it is wrong for the customer to do whatever they want with their consoles at their own risk of course (since warranties don't cover anything other than a defect of "natural" causes). After all, when a person buy a game console, it is something that he/she already owns and so, it is up to the owner what he/she wants to do with it right?

What the company should think about is....when a person modded the console, meaning there is something more than what was given is expected out of the game console to satisfy the customer. From there, the company should think about the improvement of what is already there. However, it seems that they don't like the idea of people moddings since the thoughts come with when it is modded, it plays the pirated stuff as well. I am not condoning the purchases of pirated goods but the point is, if there is something can be done to avoid the attraction of piracy, then why not do it?

I think what Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony should think about is that....finding out WHY is the reason for modding... If the satisfaction is there, I don't think customer would want to take the trouble to do moddings after paying so much for the game console. They would be more happier to just buy and play with it straight away without moddings, if it is already as how they like it to be, don't you think so?

Something about iPhone

After some time the iPhone is in the US market, and something I found out about this so much talked about phone...

Although it has a nice look, sleek and innovative, the downside of it is that it has variable sound quality, has some missing features like stereo Bluetooth upport, of course no 3G, it has no better integrated memory than iPod and the need to sync for music content management.

Well...it is not always great about a new gadget in the market...however, it depends on what are your preferences on a phone to like a phone anyway, right? Still you get to choose if you want a 4GB or the 8GB iPhone...hm...wonder how it is like if it is in Malaysian market..

Sony Blu-ray BDP-S1E Disc Player comparing to other models.

I was browsing through at the electrical shop and was looking at DVD players, then I stumbled upon this Sony Blu-ray Disc Player... aha! Another Sony stuff.

It is of course a full HD 1080p resolution (hm...some are talking about 1080i, and now going into 1080p!!) It has enhanced DVD playback, and has something that is called a cinema tuned presets so you can optimise the display setting to your liking, like you are watching the movies in cinema at your own home. (I think this should come with a good TV also. haha).. Sound wise, it has that 7.1 channel surround sound (when I was actually busy looking at the 5.1 channel. duh!) and so the audio is not compressed that you hear the sound just like the original from the studio. Get a good ear to listen eh? :)

Well, as this is a Blu-Ray Disc player, obviously it is just perfect for HD movies, which I only found limited titles recently at a DVD shop. However, to compensate that limitations at the moment, just think about the Blu-Ray Disc has a lot more to music, the games, computer software and the data storage.

It has the enhanced interactivity, where you can still browse the disc menus, the settings that you like, and accessing the chapters without interrupting what you are currently watching. Cool eh? So not really wasting your time on going back and forth, but...hm, probably might lose some things in the movie scenes? Small matter perhaps...

Since the Blu-Ray disc can hold the storage of 5 standard DVDs, so you can have a 2 hours of HD videos on a 25GB single layer disc, and so one dual layer disc will hold 50GB that gives you a 9 hours of HD videos (er..you can sit for that long?) or 23 hours of standard Definition videos, and it is compatible with the CD and DVD formats!

It has MP3 and JPEG Playback from DVD Media, of course it has the HDMI control (which obviously will be useful with Bravia Theatre Sync).

This player is in the size of 43cm x 10.6cm x 35.5cm.

This is a new one as compared to the BDP-S300 which is earlier produced, and some said that it has a slow loading time for this S300 model. It is only something that you can buy if you are just looking for a cheaper player. While some would even prefer the Samsung BD-P1200 over this S300 for a Blu-Ray Disc player! This is because of the better image quality, with HDMI 1.3 output; Ethernet jack to upgrade firmware; relatively more movies available on Blu-ray than HD DVD for some part of the world. However, what turns off the Samsung BD-P1200 is the price which is rather expensive. Just will scare people away! :)

Well, the Sony BDP-S1E is a newer model and nothing much to actually shout about actually. It is another expensive player with something more which is the ability to output 1080p resolution via the HDMI jack. Still in spite of that, you won't really get to differentiate between the 1080i and the 1080p sources. If you are really looking at your $$$, just get what you think you like at an affordable price. For now, obviously it is still pricy since Blu-Ray Disc is still new in the market and limited titles to get from the shop here in Malaysia..

Still, somebody should start buying and move the market right?
